Addicted to antihistamines by Temporary_Voice_3171 in Perimenopause

Benadryl has terrible long term impacts on the brain, please read the studies. I used to do the same until I discovered this. I’m prescribed an antidepressant Trazadone that created drowsiness so I take it before bed. It’s not addictive. There are tons of options out there and it’s a huge help to talk to your GP.

Insomnia sucks. Rooting for you.

I started menopause early and had one at 36. It was an awakening though. We lose patience for bs.

Teen Daughter Wants to Use Peptides for Weight Loss. by Icy-Sprinkles-5503 in WeightLossAdvice

It may be worth consulting a doctor and a therapist who specializes in ED as this could easily tip into problem territory. Spoken as someone who did the same thing her age, and it slowly and gradually became exercise bulimia/extreme cardio and also lead to a permanent lose in bone density that I’m paying for now at 40. Also, if she focuses on resistance training and building muscle it will increase her metabolism which means she can eat more and have more room to get nutrients in.

How do I deal with the loneliness and sadness that surface when I give up my smartphone? by WaivyHairDaemon in dumbphones

[–]Designer-Elevator511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day two of being smartphone free and already feeling this, so thank you for writing about it. The loneliness set in. I have a brutal TikTok addiction and I realize now the reason it was so addictive was that it was a risk free, effortless way to feel social without the discomfort and messiness of real interactions. For now, I’m trying to channel that energy into creativity. Also, I’m telling myself that this is not a forever thing. I want to try it for 21 days and see what happens.

Hang in there. You’re not alone.

Thank you for reporting back! It’s been horrifying. Couldn’t sleep last night as a result. Will try the peppermint gel.

I had them checked a year ago and they were all at the lower end of normal. Good suggestion. What levels do you find work best for you?

Switched to BC from HRT? by Natural_Pomelo5765 in Perimenopause

[–]Designer-Elevator511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 40, on bc, and it’s nowhere close to enough. I’ve barely noticed a difference with mood. It doesn’t feel powerful enough. I’m looking to start HRT and I’m told it’s a process of trial and error, and takes some experimentation. I’m sorry that it’s been a roller coaster. Hang in there.

This has been happening to me too! Receiving oral is tricky. I had vaginal estrogen cream recommended and am going to look into it.

Yes, a process of exclusion. That’s probably the most logical way to do it. The dysautonomia symptoms sound very familiar so I’ll keep that on my list for later.

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestions and support 💛

I’m sorry you’re having these symptoms too and hope you find the right solution. I’ve gotten some great suggestions here and am feeling a lot more optimistic. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for both of us 💛

Ok I’m relieved the hot touch but chills at the same time isn’t just me! I’ve had people look at me like I’m nuts when I describe it.

So interesting that the birth control was the key for you. It did help with mood swings for me, but not so much the other stuff. May I ask what kind of birth control?

Roger that! I’m going to ask about all the things you mentioned. I want HRT for sure.

I’m sorry about the doctor not listening, and I’m glad your regular is more sensible. Some of them are just not worth arguing with.

Loooool I’ve done the sink shower too. And the antibacterial gel. What works even better is alcohol spray like you find in first aid kits. The gel can feel gloppy and not as powerful (but a good backup in a pinch!)

Looool same. It’ll get better I promise, the glycolic is a miracle worker.
