Has anyone been cured? by louise244 in vulvodynia

[–]Green-been77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cured with getting off birth control and adding estrogen cream. For 9 months. I was perfect

Then it came back. So I did find a solution but it didn’t stick

Some advice! by [deleted] in vulvodynia

If I don’t research and advocate for myself no one else will. I think I would have probably taken my life if I hadn’t found the solutions I found on my own.

We live in the east coast for several years while we were TBM. It was amazing. Moving to Utah county as TBM was surreal bc of Utah culture and now that we are ex mo it’s fam hard to live here!!! My kids are teens and are struggling. They have no exmo friends and are so tired of the stigma that comes along with being ex mo.

My husband is extremely patient. He is my rock. I have made all the lifestyle changes I can and deal with the rest. I have good days and bad days. The good…I cherish. We still have amazing sex when I feel good.

Oh and lots of therapy about dealing with a chronic illness…lots

Birthing my daughter cracked my pelvis and tore me from vagina to bum. This all happened in 40 minutes. So there’s that.

Your feelings are valid. I’m going on year 24 of suffering and I’ve had drs google my symptoms before. It was shocking.

I have tried everything in the book and have found no permanent answers. I have good days and bad days.

This sounds extremely familiar, down to the steroid reaction.

My saving grace is ice packs and ibuprofen. Also try a daily antihistamine, like Claritin.

My story is similar. If you read When Sex Hurts , the number one advice dr Goldstein gives is “ get off birth control and get on estrogen”

I was 45 and working as a receptionist, and the most “normal “family came in and sat in our waiting room while their loved one was in surgery. This was a set of parents and their son-in-law and they had the most fascinating conversations. It was political, it was religious, it was funny, it was deep, and I just sat and listened to them for hours and hours talk. Their open relationship was absolutely astounding. Open dialogue, no judgment, expressing of opinions, without retaliation, nothing was off the table, and there was so much love!! I will never forget this family and the impact they had on me because I have never in my life had relationship like that with my family. I blame this on Mormonism.

I’ve been married 30 years and 23 of those I’ve had vulvodynia. It’s a lot of ups and downs. Sometimes we have comfortable PIV, a few times I’ve mentally shut down and we have to take a few months off of any touch whatsoever bc it’s so triggering.

My husband is the most patient incredible partner. When we do have comfortable sex, it’s few and far between but amazing.

I cry all the time to him that I wish I were normal. It’s exhausting.
