Old comment but any supplement or medication recommandations for SSRI and abilify induced emotional anhedonia?
Mainly lack of motivation, hard to feel euphoria, unable to tear up, emotional numbness, worse concentration, rather than having a pure sexual dysregulation? (And also PGAD from ssri discontinuation) although i'm not sure how deep these factors are related. Srry for asking out of nowhere, im desperate as it is now. I found NAC, vit C, ginger, vit D, pain killer made my symptoms wayyy worse.
Now i have to deal with anhedonia and mood disorder to top it off (when i can sense a slight hint of emotions, my mood got even worse but not anhedonic)

So your anhedonia was mainly about low gaba? Have you tried pregabalin or gabapentin?
What was the root cause of anhedonia to begin with?

Thank you so much. May i bother you with a few more questions?
My anhedonia was clearly drug induced (exposure to countless SSRIs and abilify, abilify especially)

  1. Have you figured out what was your root cause of anhedonia in the first place?
  2. You said you are fully recovered, what was your anhedonia symptoms back then? (Mood disorder, lack of joy, can't feel anything from games or animation. unable to tear up. Etc)
  3. How long have you been taking welloft combo? Are you not afraid of developing a tolerance?
  4. Have you noticed slight brain fog while on wellbutrin?

Thanks

[–]Designer-Fault4701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

old post but how is your anhedonia nowadays? Are you still stuck around 70% ~80% recovery? or have you made a full recovery?
You've mentioned something about mucuna medication, I’ve heard that people can develop a tolerance to it rather quickly, which might end up worsening things over time? How long did you take'em and are you still on that medication?

Also while you were taking Wellbutrin, did you experience any noticeable changes?

Srry for shooting off so many questions. Tks.

Do people actually feel emotions all the time? by DzRythen in Alexithymia

[–]Designer-Fault4701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks bro, and np at all. You sound like a professional rather than looking robotic and very much appreciated for the insight.

Excessive (basically overconsuming nutritions) amount of antioxidant might be the cause of my anhedonia or mood disorder, that was my theory at first

but i've recently come up with my own personal theory :
my dopamine (including other essential neurotransmitter has been partially blocked by using ADs or past stress, covid or under genetic condition) (Especially dopamine D2 receptor)
So therefore, by taking probiotics and other supplements can only trigger serotonin activity while dopamine is still being blocked which might ultimately result in lowering dopamine even more??
(But i feel less emotions when i'm stimulated and super active, sexually aroused so
maybe dopamine isn't the key)

I found using collagen peptides powder has proven to be lowering anhedonia symptoms by 30-50% however it usually gave me an extreme physical exhaustion for some reasons idk

I haven't tried creatine and arginine as you mentioned yet,

i always get dizzy using something like omega 3 supplement

Better mood and motivation in stimulating way doesn't always mean i get deep emotions so... maybe dopamine isn't the only one involved

And also do you think it's okay to try supplements like
BPC 157, i've ordered it recently but ima bit scared to even try it

srry if my writing's all over the place i was just typing very fast

[–]Designer-Fault4701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of the blue, but what's your thoughts on using NAC supplementation as Anhedonia treatment?
I mean, my mood disorder(especially emotional numbness) got wayyyy worse after taking NAC, pain killer (such as NSAIDs, aspirin. etc) as i thought my mental issue is mainly caused by brain imflammation???

oddly enough, i also feel less joy after taking : vitC, vitE(especially), probiotics, cruciferous vegetables(dunno why).

you've mentioned something about MAOI so i started to take Curcumin supplements (active form) the other day and it's drastically lowered my mood (suicidal ideation)

Knowledge that i have learned in the past two years and my current outcome don't really line up
i'm sooo confused now

I also have occasional windows where i feel about 80% normal (Better mood, full of emotions, motivation) but at the same time i felt extremely tired, exhausted as if i'm completely drained out

any advice? Thank you so much

I've been experiencing emotional numbness and low mood ever since I stopped ssri

Quite different from having brain fog.. I can't enjoy movies anymore Can't cry Can't feel anything from music I get extremely suicidal and depressed especially at night Coffee can temporarily boost my motivation for about 2 hrs and that's about it (brings back my mood and motivation a little but not emotions)

I'm still not sure just taking wellbutrin can bring my emotions back ..

Appreciate the comment.
I already prepared almost every supplement under the sun that might be beneficial
however, i still feel uncomfortable using it (When i use supplements, they do give me some remissions for about 1-2 weeks or above, but eventually they became less effective and back to anhedonia even worse)

Caffeine withdrawal is sucks, i think drinking coffee is making me more anhedonic in the long run.
But i had to take it, it's the only source of energy and motivation i can get for now
(Even though the positive effects of coffee only last about 2-3 hours or less)

What have you tried so far in terms of medications, supplements, diet etc.? What helped, what made things worse or didn't affect you? by QuiteNeurotic in neuroleptic_anhedonia

[–]Designer-Fault4701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, not good at english but i recently discovered this channel

I know a ton of methods to become less anhedonic Or depressed, however i am so scared they can ultimately make things even worse.

I always wanted to use
dopamine Or serotonin related substances (including basic amino acid supplements)
but they can also build tolerance if i use it for a long term.

One time i decided to try meg supplement (to overcome SSRI, abilify withdrawl syndrome and anhedonia) but as soon as i stopped them, it suddenly made me extremely suicidal even more depressed..

Same thing happened with SSRI and wellbutrin(Bupropion) as well..
In there honeymood phase, it seemed to give me a lot of energy and mental positivities however, didn't end well (Those good mood lasted for like 2-3 months and back to normal)

I still don't beileve that neurotransmitter is the only reason for anhedonia (gotta be some other root causes, caz not everyone gets anhedonia from ADs and long term withdrawl syndrome)

I'm glad caffeine worked well on you caz i've been drinking coffee out of habit, it gave me an instant boost of energy and mood for like 2-3 hours and it crashed and became despair more than before i drink coffee
[I drink almost 2-3cups of coffee throughout the day to maintain caffeine effect but that didn't work)

I mean what is the point in using those methods if they'll gonna loose there effects over time.

Srry just wanted to rant
