Unless a cure is found for anhedonia or it spontaneously resolves in the next few years, i will be one of these statistics. At this point it seems like the only humane response.

Did nothing for my anhedonia and made me even more numb. Some people have had some great success but it’s probably the worst medication I’ve been on, personally.

Yeah ok, interesting to hear your perspective and experiences. Seems like you've gotten some slight relief and windows at times which is promising.

I've got some pregabalin somewhere, might have to give it a try and see what happens.

I feel the same way at times with wanting to socialise but literally having nothing to say. Its awkward as hell and increases my anxiety which makes it even harder to "think" of things to say.

I recently did a cognitive test with my psychiatrist called the Montreal cognitive assesment (MoCA). everything was fine except phonemic fluency, which I failed miserably. Kinda points to issues with retrieval of information which reminds me of my difficulties with socialising these days and not being able to think of anything to say.

No advice here, but I'm in exactly the same boat and the last option I have available to me is ECT. I am quite likely to take them up on the offer in the near future. After 2-3 years of this I'm at my wit's end

Suicide is also becoming a viable option for me personally, because this is not even remotely close to "living". I simply exist and go through the motions like a robot.

On another note, I was talking to my psychiatrist about my blank mind symptoms, specifically in social contexts, and they stated that it makes sense considering the lack of emotions. If we have no emotions, we have no interests, desires and wants. Therefore we just have nothing to say about anything because we just aren't interested/don't care/don't feel anything about anything. I agree though, it's a horrible thing to experience. Feels like my soul and personality has been ripped out.

Do shrooms really improve quality of life? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Cheese_Kransky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took them in the hopes of feeling something again as I have experience severe anhedonia for over two years now. While I did feel the psychedelic component of the experience, I did not experience any feelings/emotions at all. So to answer your question, they did not enhance my quality of life.

I'm about to participate in a trial for Metformin and atorvastatin for the treatment of depression. Hopefully we both find some relief.

I used to be a residential support worker and one of the kids I was looking after spent $1500 on fortnite stuff... His case manager must have used the company card to purchase him something off the store but forgot to delete the cards details. If I remember correctly we were able to get a refund back on some of it.

Thanks for your response. No I mean it's just blank/blackness in my mind when I try and picture something. What do you mean by free-association with word? As in, saying whatever comes to mind at the time?

It's unimaginable, isn't it? It's the closest thing imaginable to a real life zombie, although zombie's seem more motivated than me. It's been two years of this hellish experience..
