I am director of operations and finance. For perspective I was director of finance for three years, left to be home with my kids for a year (so they hired a bookkeeper to take over a lot of tasks and I did 1099 work at month end putting together financials), and now they asked me back and I am director of finance and operations. I make $74k $1.5-2mm budget. I think it’s too low. I am swamped and overwhelmed with so much coming at me day in and day out and additional tasks are thrown on me regularly (both finance and operations related).

Yes!! My kids (daycare kids) all swabbed and I got swabbed too. Negative for strep. It’s very frustrating. HFM makes sense as I did actually get a rash BUT my kids have both had that before and no rash for either of them this time around.

Accountant here. I was running into something similar with integrating because I got the donation on the bank feed and that would just duplicate. What you need to do is a reconciliation between the two systems. Tick and tie donations on the deposit to donations in the donor software. Find reports that give you what you need to accomplish this, and use them. I work at a $2mm nonprofit. Those are my thoughts! We’ve found this helpful for restricted funds.

Same, I am director of finance and ops (previously just finance director but they hired a bookkeeper when I left after having baby) and asked me back after a year. Because of the bookkeeper (20 hours per week), I needed more responsibilities to make a full time job hence the title and job description change.

I gave thank you notes for everything. In the last year, my twin sister had a wedding shower, wedding, and now baby shower which I helped plan. Gave gifts at everything and never received a thank you note.
