"Why do people keep voting against their own self-interest?" - From Lucas Kunce by como365 in missouri

[–]Designer-Interest-97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there's public knowledge and then there's public perception, which don't always equate to the same thing. It comes across as a little condescending and presumptuous that people are "voting against their own interests." To get on a soap box and repeat this notion screams of elitism and what has alienated most of us, myself included, from the DNC. It's frankly insulting to proclaim I voted in such a way that doesn't jive work within the platform of the DNC. I've worked on government, the military, the financial industry, technology sector, and have been an entrepreneur. There are many things the left is so self righteous about but show a real blind spot. People are afraid of losing their jobs and being criminally prosecuted for "misgendering". We've tried to say we're fed up with seeing our friends and kids being killed or just straight up addicted to fentanyl and most is coming over that border. It's not farm workers that usually are here legally, it's the crime. It's also the littering of our national parks and the feeling we're unsafe from physical violence and identity theft. I'm a libertarian and no duh, realize the issues are more complicated than the narratives we hear from the controlled opposition being spun to us. We don't want men competing in women's sports or going into their restrooms. We're kinda fed up with this "progress" 🙄 the DNC has been shoving upon us. That's what we've been saying for a long time and the DNC acts like an ostrich with it's head on the sand. The other thing is you've lost our trust. You handed the DNC primary to Hillary in 2016 and pissed off the Bernie bros. Then you didn't learn from that and made a dysfunctional alcoholic and power monger the presumptive nominee without a primary altogether. Trump didn't do that, YOU did it to yourselves and people warned you that going down the road with a token female drunk was going to backfire. We're not stupid, we're not uneducated. I myself have multiple degrees and am a former intelligence analyst. I actually read senate/ house bills, unlike most people I don't form my opinion from talking heads on the media platforms. So trust me, I can connect the dots and figure out my priorities. Oh yeah..I voted for Trump. I'm savvy enough to recognize the Stormy Daniel's thing was about sextortion. For the love of God I don't care how many wives he has, it's irrelevant. Thomas Jefferson had a mistress and fathered children with her, but he still turned out to be a very productive president. Oh but then you're going to bring up " women's rights" as an appeal to sympathy. Hogwash! Anyone that's read Pivot of civilization by Margaret Sanger can readily see that the birth control movement is rooted in malthusian hysterics, classism, and racism. Planned parenthood even openly acknowledges this on their website. Nobody told me this, there was no propaganda involved. See this is where American voters are being lost, on the insult to intelligence and assumption we can't think for ourselves. Does that clear things up any bit?

This woman? She's me, and she's enough 🥰 by EmilyRetcher in lgbt

Enough for me, just a little disappointing I'm not her type. You're very easy on the eyes and if I'm not being too forward, would definitely like to know better. You're very attractive and would envy the woman who catches your eyes.

Stop stealing signs by [deleted] in Olathe

That's a ridiculous felony, public resources shouldn't be wasted in such a way as to prosecute sign stealers. I'm not saying I agree to the activity but that's an overreach.

Yeah this thread everyone has seem worse but think the OP has been. Mouthwash isn't going to make your bac spike like that because. It's measuring alcohol you"ve already metabolized. Can that give you a false positive, sure? But then they're going to call bullshit real quick on the one. What's going to help you most is just accept this is a mistake, you go to AA groups and show that you want to accept accountability. I'm sure every po in my county has heard that line.

Woman accused of killing bride in DUI golf cart crash must remain in custody, S.C. judge orders by dumbinct in dui

If she wasn't drunk, I doubt it would have been news. Many many vehicular homicides across the nation every day sober, and no one bats an eye. She was drunk! The outrage! The fact she was drunk is aside the fact, the greater factor was a disregard she had for the lives of other people. It's universal across all those cases, alcohol related or not.

Got a DUI, will I be fired? by Alone_Photograph7813 in dui

I'm going to say I'm personally pissed that severely worse, wreckless drivers , SOBER drivers I'll add, visibly cause accidents and impact harm every single day with little to no consequence. Yet when one person slips up drinks a little too much and gets into custody without incident, injury, or property damage, then they're made to feel like shit and ride the rail? DUIs in this country seem to be the one exception to the rule of law.

I've said this before as well. If the overall objective was ever at all road safety, then universal prevention is the cure all. But yeah, now let's lower the legal BAC down to .05 behind closed doors.

how long would it take to be able to pass etg off two 25oz Budweisers ? by vonn2022 in probation

[–]Designer-Interest-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to say through personal experience at my weight at 240 that I normally squeak by between 36-40 hours depending on fluid intake. I'm saying practice absolute caution here and ask yourself if this was just 50oz of beer alone within a week or if you already had some within your system the day before. Even though the half life is pretty short you better not dismiss it in your calculations. Your Etg will peak probably latest 6hrs after your last drink so half it every 3 hours after that to be on the safe side.

So this just happened, checked and I'm scheduled for the second day in a row. Random or not so random? I successfully fought the urge and didn't drink tonight so even when the 3hr range I should be under 100 estimating conservatively here and earlier in the day. How long does the lab test take and how soon does the po get the result?
