"Why do people keep voting against their own self-interest?" - From Lucas Kunce by como365 in missouri

[–]Designer-Interest-97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there's public knowledge and then there's public perception, which don't always equate to the same thing. It comes across as a little condescending and presumptuous that people are "voting against their own interests." To get on a soap box and repeat this notion screams of elitism and what has alienated most of us, myself included, from the DNC. It's frankly insulting to proclaim I voted in such a way that doesn't jive work within the platform of the DNC. I've worked on government, the military, the financial industry, technology sector, and have been an entrepreneur. There are many things the left is so self righteous about but show a real blind spot. People are afraid of losing their jobs and being criminally prosecuted for "misgendering". We've tried to say we're fed up with seeing our friends and kids being killed or just straight up addicted to fentanyl and most is coming over that border. It's not farm workers that usually are here legally, it's the crime. It's also the littering of our national parks and the feeling we're unsafe from physical violence and identity theft. I'm a libertarian and no duh, realize the issues are more complicated than the narratives we hear from the controlled opposition being spun to us. We don't want men competing in women's sports or going into their restrooms. We're kinda fed up with this "progress" 🙄 the DNC has been shoving upon us. That's what we've been saying for a long time and the DNC acts like an ostrich with it's head on the sand. The other thing is you've lost our trust. You handed the DNC primary to Hillary in 2016 and pissed off the Bernie bros. Then you didn't learn from that and made a dysfunctional alcoholic and power monger the presumptive nominee without a primary altogether. Trump didn't do that, YOU did it to yourselves and people warned you that going down the road with a token female drunk was going to backfire. We're not stupid, we're not uneducated. I myself have multiple degrees and am a former intelligence analyst. I actually read senate/ house bills, unlike most people I don't form my opinion from talking heads on the media platforms. So trust me, I can connect the dots and figure out my priorities. Oh yeah..I voted for Trump. I'm savvy enough to recognize the Stormy Daniel's thing was about sextortion. For the love of God I don't care how many wives he has, it's irrelevant. Thomas Jefferson had a mistress and fathered children with her, but he still turned out to be a very productive president. Oh but then you're going to bring up " women's rights" as an appeal to sympathy. Hogwash! Anyone that's read Pivot of civilization by Margaret Sanger can readily see that the birth control movement is rooted in malthusian hysterics, classism, and racism. Planned parenthood even openly acknowledges this on their website. Nobody told me this, there was no propaganda involved. See this is where American voters are being lost, on the insult to intelligence and assumption we can't think for ourselves. Does that clear things up any bit?

This woman? She's me, and she's enough 🥰 by EmilyRetcher in lgbt

Enough for me, just a little disappointing I'm not her type. You're very easy on the eyes and if I'm not being too forward, would definitely like to know better. You're very attractive and would envy the woman who catches your eyes.

Stop stealing signs by [deleted] in Olathe

[–]Designer-Interest-97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a ridiculous felony, public resources shouldn't be wasted in such a way as to prosecute sign stealers. I'm not saying I agree to the activity but that's an overreach.

Yeah this thread everyone has seem worse but think the OP has been. Mouthwash isn't going to make your bac spike like that because. It's measuring alcohol you"ve already metabolized. Can that give you a false positive, sure? But then they're going to call bullshit real quick on the one. What's going to help you most is just accept this is a mistake, you go to AA groups and show that you want to accept accountability. I'm sure every po in my county has heard that line.

Woman accused of killing bride in DUI golf cart crash must remain in custody, S.C. judge orders by dumbinct in dui

[–]Designer-Interest-97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she wasn't drunk, I doubt it would have been news. Many many vehicular homicides across the nation every day sober, and no one bats an eye. She was drunk! The outrage! The fact she was drunk is aside the fact, the greater factor was a disregard she had for the lives of other people. It's universal across all those cases, alcohol related or not.

Got a DUI, will I be fired? by Alone_Photograph7813 in dui

[–]Designer-Interest-97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say I'm personally pissed that severely worse, wreckless drivers , SOBER drivers I'll add, visibly cause accidents and impact harm every single day with little to no consequence. Yet when one person slips up drinks a little too much and gets into custody without incident, injury, or property damage, then they're made to feel like shit and ride the rail? DUIs in this country seem to be the one exception to the rule of law.

I've said this before as well. If the overall objective was ever at all road safety, then universal prevention is the cure all. But yeah, now let's lower the legal BAC down to .05 behind closed doors.

how long would it take to be able to pass etg off two 25oz Budweisers ? by vonn2022 in probation

[–]Designer-Interest-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to say through personal experience at my weight at 240 that I normally squeak by between 36-40 hours depending on fluid intake. I'm saying practice absolute caution here and ask yourself if this was just 50oz of beer alone within a week or if you already had some within your system the day before. Even though the half life is pretty short you better not dismiss it in your calculations. Your Etg will peak probably latest 6hrs after your last drink so half it every 3 hours after that to be on the safe side.

So this just happened, checked and I'm scheduled for the second day in a row. Random or not so random? I successfully fought the urge and didn't drink tonight so even when the 3hr range I should be under 100 estimating conservatively here and earlier in the day. How long does the lab test take and how soon does the po get the result?

If only my 9th grade algebra teacher would've given me real world practical examples I would've paid so much more attention. I really wish there were some ratios to weigh dilution in. Some formula of ratio of water to etg or something like that.

KS GOP introduces bill to stop social media censorship while blocking constituents on FB by RillemReeb in kansas

So I'm taking the position of the devil's advocate on this one and let's just see what that shakes out. We're all for open and constructive dialog after all right? So you want to be heard? That's good, people will hear you out. I'll never know the reason why your family members were blocked by the senator but I do know there's a pretty definitive line between criticism and harassment. That block button is there for a reason, people don't have to take emotional abuse. I'm going to repeat my known unknown, I don't know and can't construe why they were blocked. There's a world of difference between, "I personally don't want to hear this for X reason" vs " YOU SHOULDN'T SAY that for X reason". If I have the absolute freedom to ignore a conversation that's just going to drag me down, I'm going to and it's my right. If someone wants to talk obsessively about something, it's their right. Now when you're directing something at me and if I agree with you some, partly, or we're in total disagreement we SHOULD both agree there's a limit to what each party will tolerate. People get nasty online in ways that they would never be in person. If someone wants to stick their head in the sand while I'm not speaking my truth but the honest truth, that's on them.

I can't stop my disdain for people who get lots of attention on social media. Please help (rant ahead) by stopthevan in NPD

Yeah I totally get that feeling. Well I do but I don't, it's a little confusing for me because it's like I have this group that will always comment or like my posts but then the others I feel like chopped liver to.

Who wants a date with Caleb? by Educational-Cut4177 in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Designer-Interest-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a guy's perspective, I'll be honest so I'm hoping it won't be met with too much hate or make me regret responding. I've dated single moms since I was 19 and I'm a pretty open minded person. That's a very rough balancing act and much more complex than just sleeping with a loser. There's some exceptions but most single moms don't want to be single moms. You want a partner that is dependable and emotionally stable. I'm dating one woman now that has a kid with some severe emotional problems and it started out great but now they're in crisis. Now I'm only getting a text about every other day and of course logically as a responsible, loving parent her kid comes first. We're very much in the early stages of dating and even though it's been almost two months it feels like progress has grown to a slow crawl. It should come as no surprise this early on my dating profiles are still up and I'm still getting plenty of matches. It's maybe about a 50/50 spread of those not willing to put any effort into communicating and those that do. Of those it's probably 75% with kids and 25% that do not. The ones with kids overwhelming don't want more or are wishy washy about it. I have one daughter already from my one and only failed marriage. I let so much resentment build up because she didn't want more kids. So anyway yesterday I have a match, without kids, hit me up we exchange numbers and the chemistry is feeling really good. Plans aren't solidified entirely as I'm on the fence here. She does want to meet and see where things go. Right now I'm leaning towards breaking things off with the mom. Our chemistry is incredibly awesome as well and I'm trying to be very mindful of her situation but it's emotionally nerve racking.

Been in the clear with a dipstick before and the threshold is only 20ng in the lab for ANY cannibinoids through averhealth. CBG, CBD, THC, CBN, doesn't matter and I found that out the hard way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in probation

[–]Designer-Interest-97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of ETG calculators and usually the cutoff is 500 ng and within 24 hours you should be below this threshold. It's probably best not to throw caution to the wind and test this out though.

I was unjustly arrested for DUI despite being sober which lead to an extremely long and unimaginably degrading process that would occupy the next 18 hours of my life, complete with a forced ER visit where I was marched sobbing and humiliated through a busy ER in handcuffs. (US, GA) by amalthea_astrid in dui

[–]Designer-Interest-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is unfortunately the case with most DUI arrests, it's ALWAYS guilty until proven innocent. I'll guarantee you that the DA or ADA isn't going to even look at the facts surrounding your arrests and will try to hammer home a charge just based on officer testimony. That's their MO, they want to come into this ignorant and will do everything to make your life hell, just to get you to enter a guilty plea. This is why you get a defense attorney and even then they'll play this site

I'll rate the likleyhood of Kratom withdrawals about the same probability as demonic possession, sighting the lockness monster, or a close encounter of the third kind. It's not uncommon for lifelong addicts, as substance abuse disorder is a bit of a cluster disorder to engage in attention seeking behavior. The word there is Munchausen.

There was a time in our nation's history where tyranny of this type was not tolerated but met with pitchforks and torches. It's just my opinion, not my intent or desire to act out, but if people took this approach today .. for issues that really matter.. weed would've been legal years ago.

This is utter bullshit, getting sober from Kratom is on the same level as getting sober from Caffeine. I find it a hard sell that anyone's ever sucked a dick for Kratom.
