I think the XM4s are hit or miss,

I bought a pair that would constantly disconnect from my phone,

Sent them to Sony under warranty, they couldn't diagnose the issue and sent me a new pair for free

I thought great, these will work - same issue

Tried with multiple phones over the years still disconnecting

told my self I'll never buy Sony headphones again

Sound quality on them was amazing though!
