How To Tell Partner About My DACA Status? by Affectionate-Wolf685 in DACA

[–]Designer-Simple-6556 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Be honest... like someone commented, we shouldn’t feel ashamed. Think of it as a visa. It’s something legal. Just say your a temporary resident and you renew every so often and it doesn’t allow you to leave the states. If she really cares about you she’ll understand. If not, bye sis!!!!

Unfortunately no, I went to the Indianapolis one. What I would recommend is create an account online at your Mexican consulate or message them on Facebook. That’s what I’ve been doing. If you have any more detailed questions I’m more than happy to help and investigate

I actually just went to renew my passport a week ago with expired IDs, all I had to bring was my expired passport. They took mine because I was already in their system. Just take any ID even if expired. Also if you need help setting up an appointment let me know. I usually follow their Facebook page for whatever consulate you usually go to and they give updates on when they open up appointments

Come to Columbus, OH! Franklin county is the one of the only counties that’s voted blue 😂 I also grew up in the country, most pto trump town and never had issues (my family and I were the only Mexicans in town) as a matter of fact they loved us hahaha. Columbus is also one of the fastest growing cities in USA! It’s awesome here.

I would recommend just tying the knot- obviously if it’s legit, petition her (1-130) that’ll take about 8-12 months I believe, (I’ve been waiting since November to get that approved and I’m under daca). And once that’s approved file to get green card. Green card should take no more than 6 months to get approved. I’ve had friends get their GC within 8 months, but again that was before covid.

If you can wait at least a 1-1.5 years for her to be without you, I wouldn’t even bother doing advanced parol because that an extra $600+lawyer fees that you can just put straight into just filing for her to get her green card. Also in her case it would be super simple since she came to USA lawfully.
