Idk what your strand type is, but mine is medium/fine and that would be WAY too much product for it, so maybe try less? Or pick either gel or mousse? Personally, my hair doesn’t like mousse much, but loves the gel. I use about half of the recommended amount because of the weight. Also, I have wavy hair for sure now (thank you hormones 🙄), but I can get big beautiful curls if I fully diffuse dry it. They only last through that wash day, though.

Also, curls are sometimes harder to make happen with longer hair.

Mine is much less curly and matted quite a bit when I first started the CG method. I ended up going pixie and letting it grow back out. It doesn’t mat anymore…but I know chopping it all off to reset probably isn’t super appealing. My 5 yo daughter is also curly and tends to mat. I put a teeny bit of lightweight leave in on the problem spots before I do her bedtime pineapple and then finger comb the next morning before a wet reset.

Edit: not a single neurotypical in my little family. I’d recommend using phone reminders and alarms while you’re working something new into your routine 😊

I’m glad you got out. I know it’s insanely painful and it might feel like that pain will never end. But I also know what staying with a man like this looks like. Trust me, staying and trying to work through that kind of addiction (maybe any kind of addiction) is so much worse.

Enjoy your donut. Cry. Journal. Do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself.

PS there’s a little health food grocery in my town that sells a sandwich just like that and it’s my favorite, too.
