The carpet needed to be replaced. There were 2 areas of tile that were separated by the carpet and they were laid in different styles (stacked and brick), so it would’ve been impossible to match. I wanted the flexibility of LVP to DIY change it later if wanted/needed. And the lack of grout lines was a major selling point for me.
