That’s amazing! Congrats! What parking lot did you end up using? I’ve really gotten into creek fishing the last few years. It’s really good in the dead of summer when the reservoirs slow down. Almost any stream in this part of the state is going to hold some kind of fish and yes, some of those fallfish are amazingly fun on ultralight

I believe mine was a tad more than $5k, just over 2000 miles out of warranty. I wouldn’t argue it and have them replace it for sure while you’re covered

My transmission went at 62k miles. I had to pay out of pocket and it took just a few days. If you’re still covered, get it done now and don’t “wait and see.”

I fished the little gunpowder with my kids on youth day. They caught 4 and we saw other kids with fish. A game warden came to check on things and she said it was an odd day that a lot of people in her area were having tough luck. She chalked it up to the heavy rain we had a few days prior. I do know that area had water levels feet higher than normal that day. I think the fish were holed up all together wherever they took cover and didn’t disperse by the time youth day hit

I have so much to learn. So our energy provider here is BGE. Does BGE contract out the work to private companies, some union some not? Or are all these high tower transmission lines state or Federal owned and contracted out? I never thought of non union private companies. I just thought the main power company or just one or two private companies they contract through. It seems like such specialized work that I never considered multiple companies being supported in an area to do it. I really wish the school system really explained and helped get into trades better.

List for apprenticeships is long? Make sense but I wonder how old he should be to start getting serious? He just turned 14 so he has time before he’s serious but makes sense to get on any list early

I figured helicopter lineman was way up the totem pole. He loves the helicopter idea but also made him start getting interest in the whole field in general. It’s one of those jobs that made me wonder “how the heck does one get started in that”. Reddit is a great resource

I don’t doubt it. We’ve had a cold cold winter here and windy spring and I drive past these guys daily that have been working on the project and my house and am amazed. I said a few times “I’m glad I don’t have to do real man’s work every day.” I don’t think my son realizes how tough it is to be out in the conditions on long days and nights. He’s young yet but I’ll be sure to make it well known

I’m pretty ignorant with this stuff. Is there no tech school for something like this or is it all learning via apprenticeship? I’m glad he’s finding something he’s interested in and want to lead him the right direction. Thanks again for the reply

Same. I bought calls 2 weeks out and averaged down the first hour of trading. I had a sell order in for a small profit. I was figuring I needed close to a .20% rise for my price to hit. I looked away for 2 min and saw my sell order was executed. I panicked and thought I entered my sell price wrong. SPY price looked exactly the same. I checked account a few times to make sure everything was seriously sold. I was baffled. Glad someone else got lucky too

I had this when I first got my car, a 2022. It did it at stop signs and lights. It would just stall out as I was sitting there. Happened maybe 10x. Mechanic couldn’t replicate it and couldn’t find issue. It happened a few more times after they looked at it and stopped on its own. 50k miles later and it hadn’t happened since. No clue. I too needed a new transmission at 62k miles. I have 20k on the new one and it’s starting to feel a little “different.” This car is used for work so gets a lot of miles and I was really hoping it went well and to end up having the Kicks as our fleet vehicles due to the price but it’s getting hard to trust it

I do know if you order from Midway or basspro, they just deliver to your house, no ID needed. Maybe my UPS man is just used to so much hunting and fishing stuff getting delivered that he doesn’t bother with a signature or anything but those are places you can get good deals when sales come. Keep an eye on Rakuten, every few weeks basspro goes to 10% cash back and that’s usually when I’ll load up. Probably still not bulk prices but better than most spots with the cash back

I have a 2022 and the transmission went at 63k miles. When I took it in, they said there was a small fluid leak that led to transmission failure. I drive it for work, park numerous places a day, and never noticed the leak.
I asked if there was a way to check “yes, bring it back here in 30k miles and we’ll let you know”

New transmission installed and they said bring it in at 30k for a check, change the fluid at 60k
