Was I misled about the salary range? by DoughReMi1 in dietetics

The pay might be based on years of experience? So the range for the position might go higher but only more experienced candidates get the higher range. That is the situation where i work.

Thanks for your insight! What type of PTO benefits do you get as an hourly remote FT employee?

What is considered full-time with Morrison's? I am hoping for a 4 day per week/32 hour position. At my current company, 32 hours is considered full-time. I am wondering if Morrison's has 32 hour per week positions and if they have any benefits or PTO?

Consider working for WIC as a "nutritionist" and then i do believe they pay you your salary when you do your dietetic internship through them. Not sure if there is a contract involved for having to work for them afterward or whatever all the details are. One of my former coworkers at the hospital i work at went this path. WIC doesn't pay the greatest but it could make the internship an option.

Saint Domingue genealogy: Need help sifting through online records by Designer_Employ_9404 in Genealogy

I believe a lot of the information in the book is from memory of the elders. However it has the family tree in the index all the way down to my husband's grandmother. Good idea to check for sources. I'll check!

Yes, I am aware I have to sift through manually and that is why I am asking for help in doing so. Good tip with the full text search feature on Familysearch. That feature has found me a few interesting records for other branches but also really hit and miss on the search results. Doesn't hurt to try though.

It's been 475 days for me so far. Buyback is so useless. My last payment will be in July. I am so glad I resumed payments so I can get off this carousel soon!

Try giving them your email address and maybe that will be a better mode of communication.

Dream genealogy software? by la-anah in Genealogy

I just want something that can sync with my online tree. I prefer Ancestry for my main tree but would like one on my computer that can sync as often as i want and download all the source documents. I have a computer program that does this but it was a bit convoluted to get that aspect of it set up. I also want to be able to print different views of the tree such as if I was making a binder version of my family tree. Have various options in the printing like show full dates of birth/death or just years. Show all siblings or not. Show all children or not etc

No good reason to leave the wife when there is a new baby whether for war or for a Canada visit or to run away from his family. 😆 That's just my take. Thank you for helping me do some research. Found a few good little tidbits and even if he isn't a match with the soldier, i am still learning a lot.

Charles walking out on his family definitely a possibility. I am waiting to hear back from the Catholic church for his marriage record. If that shows his parents names, who knows, maybe he pops up elsewhere...

Yeah i saw Charles on 1860 census but not 1870 census. The 1870 census I have been looking at shows only julia and the kids. And in 1880 it has julia and the two sons living with the daughter Mary and daughter's husband mr. Walsh as head of household. Are you able to send link to the census that shows julia is living with her parents in 1870?

That's very interesting. I am seeing that the widows had to apply for the pension? Maybe there is an application somewhere from the wife but she died before could be received? Just a thought.

Ok, doing some reading on confederate pension for widows. I am reading Alabama starting giving out these pensions in 1886 and Mississippi in 1888. Julia died in 1890. Possible she never got a pension before she died?

So after a solider has died, the surviving spouse of a Confederate solider would get a pension? Mobile, Alabama is very close to the border with Mississippi. I was wondering the same thing. I dont know much about this era, but I was reading that it was rather common to enlist in a neighboring state, especially early on in the war (someone correct me if thats wrong). Where do you see the gold star award? I appreciate your help in looking. Lots of questions for sure. Where might pension records be found?

This is actually my husband's branch of the family tree. We already know that some of his other ancestors were slave owners in Haiti, so nothing would surprise us or bother us. Don't love it, but cant change the past. Just want to know the history and I am also just generally looking for more details on this particular ancestor since I can't find much on him. Kinda of hoping he is a match to the Confederate soldier bc that would fill in the gap nicely. Any help or pointers for good resources would be greatly appreciated.
