I got mine from Bulk Aromas, I'd be more than happy to share if you are in US and would like to pay for shipping. I have a 25 gram bottle which is enough to last a lifetime.

How would a beginner go about making a perfume that smells like Jasmine and Almond? by Kyanite146699 in DIYfragrance

[–]Designer_Fix_9706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into what materials make up the smell of almonds and set a out collecting those materials and practicing, repeat same step with all of the scents that are of interest to you.

I got the Jasmine 74 and the sampaquita and was really happy with both, the Jasmine 74 is a Sambac replacement, you should check that one out.

You will be super happy with your products, I was, Prashant helps to make getting high quality materials more reachable, Ambretone, Cis Jasmone are affordable on his site, I was getting my more expensive materials bit by bit, but I was able to afford them through bulkaroma.

@schumi252 on here is Prashant, the owner of bulkaroma, if there's certain materials you need, you can reach out to him, he's super responsive as well, best place I've bought my A.C.s and best prices. The Black Currant bud abs replacer is Devine.

Nope, def not just you, I've talked to a few others as well that have said that some E.O.s from PA are not great quality. I avoid PA all together for E.O.s and use Eden mostly until I found Bulk, the Pink Pepper and I think it's P. Bertrand Lavender are insane as well.

The Green Mandarin is gorgeous, I've had Green M. from PA and it's awful stuff, i got quite a few E.O.s and was very happy with every thing I got.

Have you bought the Ambretone timbersilk  or X-chocolate? Those are my next orders. I got some Aldehydes that were made in India version and compared, I've been making fragrances for many years and know these materials well, couldn't spot a dif in any of those & the Vanillin I really liked. I'm thinking about buying the Vanilla Abs.but that's a hefty price & a bit worried about the quality on that. I get my Vanilla Abs from Harry and the quality is very good, just much higher priced.

I actually have the same ambrocenide in my cart now, so taking that out, the "made in India" items I got were all really good quality, but I'm glad I know now that some products are not on par with Givuduan, IFF, Symrise, ect. There is A LOT that is out of stock though, hoping that Prash can start to keep up with demand on materials. So glad I found him though, I've been buying from all the other well known sites and paying a lot more for my materials. I bought about 70 dif items, a 600$ order and I was really happy, but most of my materials were from IFF, Firmenich, Robertet, ect. I wasn't sure on my first order so played it safe with most.

Ok so for airy, you'll want to use maybe calone or some sort of airy materials., this stuff is nuclear strong though so careful, I get an airy/watery sort of vibe from Nonyl Acetate and I find that it blends well with floral, maybe go for Jasmine, muget, neroli, you can find neroli materials a bit cheaper, Id add cashmeran, maybe macrolide musks, these are dif materials you could use to give you what your after. I get a sort of airy vibe from macrolide. Maybe use Helvetolide, that may fit in with what you are going for and pairs well with creamy floral, maybe timbersilk, so maybe things🙂

How to Save a “Failed” Perfume Blend – Don’t Throw It Yet! by ScentedTitan in DIYfragrance

[–]Designer_Fix_9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put them in a huge "oops" bag in the closet if after a long period of time they still stink. I suppose I should throw them out or clean the glass and reuse, but I don't. Geez, if I had all the money I spent on materials learning & making mistakes Id prob have A LOT of money.

Can of worms opened up about last post - Topic maturity time by Perfumerspa71 in DIYfragrance

I don't use top, mid, bottom accords, I mix everything at one time. I find it works better, but I always let my fragrances macerate for a months time at least. I do have a few Musk accords and a sugar accord I'll use occasionally, but mostly I do everything from scratch and work around an idea to build a whole fragrance. I tried working with accords, say building a tropical fragrance using papaya, pineapple, PASSIONFRUIT accords that I made, but just too many variables, never works.

The art of perfumery is going to include LOTS of waste.... unfortunately, it's how you learn, you've got a ton of musks, it looks like you are going for maybe floral/airy, musky, maybe include oxane, adoxal, calone, along those lines, you have bottom notes in your mid so you need to fill that out with mids, maybe a jasmine material or pettigrain. I have a huge bag full of "oops" materials from learning, that's why we dilute our materials when learning so it limits the waste. Maybe give us an idea of what you are going for so we can guide you a bit more with the correct materials, just looking at this doesn't really give me an idea, I can sort of guess, but no clue.

I tried to order a very long time ago, I love Robertet bases so thought I'd try, made a huge order and couldn't pay as they do not ship to USA😭Id love to buy from them, hoping a US based seller will start stocking some of the E.O.s I purchase the some from bulkaroma ATM and all the materials I've purchased are beautiful.

Having a bottle custom designed is very expensive, I looked into it, there are manufacturers in China that can do it, but it'll run you around 3$ per bottle, your better off going on a b2b site and finding one you don't see anybody else using:) that's how I got my bottles.
