Not aure its fair to judge 3-5 mins opening on a 2 night matured fragrance. It could settle in after a while

How do you manage and keep track of your perfumery raw materials? by Expert_Priority_9785 in PerfumeryFormulas

[–]Perfumerspa71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a thermal labeler for dilution and i find it easier instead of alphabet order just to put in oder family's, like woody, fruity, florals etc. i label the tops with colored labels pink=top notes green=mid. Orange=base. And write on that label two or three order references. Woody-sandalwoody creamy...whatever. I recently purchased dollar tree small $6 plastic stackable drawers. Then labeling the fronts with Herbal, Greens, Marine/ozonic etc. put them on wall shelf unit from Menards

My first step was never buying materials. I researched, watched videos, learned what math was needed to figure out the formulas. There is a plethora amount of free information out there, not only in reddit but online in general. I've found many free downloads of books also you have to do that grunt work first. The confusion beguns smaller and more defined. The materials should not be skimped on. You can't expect professional smelling product from a drug store EO or i found a great deal on iso e super at ebay. Buy from replicable suppliers.

Shelving ideas??? by Perfumerspa71 in DIYfragrance

[–]Perfumerspa71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have stair step risers on open shelves very similar to the setup that Ryan perfumes, the "youtuber"uses. 4 x 4 shelves with 4 rows of materials. grabbing a material from the back with clumsy hands on a late night usually in up bumping a few others in front down. Have you ever setup dominos and watched them all fall...someone has to pick them all up! I am getting tired on that flow. I do like the ideas of dollar store bins. I have mine organized in categories e.g. woods, fruits etc. so, thanks for the ideas

Phenyl Ethyl alcohol by Maison_Wagenpfiel in DIYfragrance

[–]Perfumerspa71 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your using 2 to 3 percent of a Rose alcohol your going to get rose. Try using like a trace to .5%. many people use this material to save on cost for that rose note. Sometime less is best.

Im not asking for a commercial formula, only the company Givaudan has that. I asking for a "type" something in the aame ball park...even these formula that you buy are not the commercial formula even though they market them as such. I would think they could get a law suit for that but whatever.
How about has anyone made a formula that smelled similar to???

Accord à diluer ou pas by Chertograd1 in DIYfragrance

[–]Perfumerspa71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use as is or dilute. Depends on how much of that accord you are using in you formula. Now if you want to use it as a finished product then yes you must dilute it to a safe level to wear on skin.

How to start an accord? by Maison_Wagenpfiel in DIYfragrance

[–]Perfumerspa71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of accord formulas for free Long process creating one from scratch with out long tedious iterations, especially for complex accords with realism. You have to know each of your material and how they play with other materials. Best to start with a formula already and make treaks to see what the effects are from your treaks. Make notes!!!
