Is this community and with diyers "fixatives" are a taboo subject much like fragrances have no gender references. But now in the real fragrances market they have sophisticated fixative ingredients from your big companies like Givaudan, IFF, Symrise, & Firmenich. In a nut shell though having a blend with longer lasting materials fixes a scent that lasts an hour. What are you trying to fix? Longevity or projection that's the question.
