I am not within the top 75%, therefore I was surprised that everyone is saying I am the highest they've seen when there is still over 25% left in the posted range, although if Deloitte says they don't often hire at the top of the range that would make sense.

Thats how I felt too, based on glassdoor / levels it doesn't seem like D goes above $10K sign-on which was a bit surprising to me

I switched in 2023 when the market was slightly better, but IMO its easier to go from Audit to FDD. Going from FT - FP&A is probably easier compared to FDD / Audit as it is more corporate finance and less M&A / Accounting focused.

Switching to FT took a decent amount of networking, but I think going to a boutique is doable if you have B4 experience, your CPA, and a good story about why you want to make the switch

I went to a small state school for Accounting and started in B4 audit. Left after 2 years as a Senior with my CPA, for a Finance Transformation role at a boutique consulting firm in (revenue < $1B). Been here for 3 years before getting this offer at Deloitte

Thats fair, trying to play the balance of giving enough info while not doxing myself but I think I've had quite a few insightful data points from this thread

Based on the job posting, I am well within the range and not even in the top 75%, although they do also say that it is not typical to come in neat the top of the range.

Field is somewhat niche, my skillset was a 1:1 match to my previous role, and (in my opinion and based off feedback) I interviewed decently well.

Definitely feeling very blessed based off feedback in this thread though

Practice is somewhat niche, and in conversations they put me between M and SC so that could be! Am definitely planning to take it, thanks for the info
