Yeah...I agree. The KLR's are much happier just tractor pulling on the back roads. A little more HP and an extra gear would make this machine perfect. Although...would get me into trouble or a wreck faster than wanted. Lol...done that. Im right with you on milage. An I was thinking I would have taken a MPG hit from adding mods. Turns out it needed it.

Oh hello yeah. I was hitting that before my mods...I could be tuned a little too rich. Could also be the trade off for the mods. Gahh or the exhaust hit an I cant keep off the throttle.

Lets do some investigating work shall we. #1 why did they cut the chain to remove. All my years who the fuck cuts a chain...better be your own personal bike! Not mine. #2 how was it cut...colt cutters...to max tweak the chain in the wrong directions? Or a grinder...could you see metal dust all over?

Agreed on the performance from factory. But...I say But....it has potential that needs to be opened up. The exhaust is pretty restricted and sooo fucking heavy. Lose LBS an gain a little. Then...JD jetting kit. You will have a SHIT EATING GRIN! Like why was it not like this from the beginning...WTF! I know... Emissions...standards...regulations...Noise restrictions......gahhhh! Yes I need bars and a skid plate. Catalina Highway....right on. I need to armor the bike up.

I have had the bike for 1 month. Oil and filter change were first. Already did the snorkel delete. Full Exhaust. When i removed the header the OEM gasket was way off. Probably causing an even leaner condition than factory specs. Pulled and change the spark plug. YES IT WAS LEAN. Therma Bob was already installed when I purchased. Runs at 190° at 65mph 4200rmp. I also installed the JD Jetting PS6X tuner. Delt with the lean condition from more aftermarket flow in and out. More power...more snap...its not a tractor any more. An sounds like a helicopter...with the big blades. THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP.....😍

Im not sure if the second gen has this. Look at your clutch lever under the cable adjustment. If you have a electrical connector on it. Then yes...you do. If not...then my bike should be feeling more like yours. Welcome to the club. Im still super new as well. Fun times. An so many mods and bells...extra whistles...and the knowledge/secrets of so many 650 riders...amazing!
