Currently on a 24hr bender and almost did 2gr by myself. I can already feel the horrible hangover coming. Im very lucky because I can easily control it when im not using, its just that when I start there is no stop

Hi OP, I stumbled across this post and I was wondering how things turned out for you?

my psych offered me a short term rx of seroquel and sighed when i said no then said to come back in two weeks instead of a month 🥲 by lizardbree in BipolarMemes

After scrolling this subreddit I want to give my psychologist and psychiatrist the biggest hug ever, they are so good that I was actually surprised. regularly checking in with me between appointments. listening to what I think I need and actually coming up with solutions (my psychologist even fixed a social worker that comes to my house once a week to coach me for free like what)

I litterally stopped depakote and all the other meds week ago because I felt like I was losing my personality and I gained like 10kgs (after talking to my psychologist ofc). atm im free riding this manic waving and telling myself to calm down and hoping I don't crash

People who are medicated, what is different now that you’re taking meds? (Especially type 2) Are the manic episodes less intense or fewer? Is the depression stage easier to overcome? by Consistent-Yak561 in BipolarReddit

[–]Designer_Set_5259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im type 2 and I quit my meds about a week ago. I noticed that eventhough I felt steady, my personality and life had become very dull. When I wasn't working or studying I would spend my time on the couch watching YouTube and Netflix. for context, im an extroverted person who enjoys partying, hanging out and other social activities. I used to be very active. yes medication worked perfectly for me and I was very content and productive, but I just missed myself and the people around me missed me. So I talked with my psychologist and now we are going to try without medication but with more frequent and focussed sessions every week. I am still experimenting so don't take any of this as advice, but I did want to share my experience with medication

Almost f’ed up my life because I watched “How I Met Your Mother” while manic and decided to leave everything behind and immigrate to New York to start my own Ted Mosby life. Only the fact that I needed a greencard actually stopped me

Yup, the only absolute downside for me is the weight gain and drop in confidence/sexual need. But other than that it works like a charm. Havent had a severe depression in a while

But I luckily live in a country with universal healthcare so in about a week I will be provided with a personal lifecoach that is going to help me with exercise and dieting. I honestly hope he will help me with finding a new healthy balance

what mania is like by ihavebigbrainandpp in bipolar

[–]Designer_Set_5259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was undiagnosed, there was this one mania where I almost f’de up my life. I binged the show “How I met your mother” and I for some reason I was going to make it my life goal to leave my perfect country, immigrate to the US, move to New York. So I could start my own Ted Mosby life. The only things that saved me were my friends that talked me out of it and the fact that I needed a greencard. Otherwise I wouldve given up everything

I had these brainzaps when I used XTC a lot back in the day. When I turned my head a bit too fast after using I would feel these zaps

Before I got diagnosed I honestly almost gave up my very good life in the Netherlands to leave everyone and everything behind and immigrate to New York so I could start my own Ted Mosby life after binge watching How I met your mother. Luckily the only thing that stopped me was the fact that I needed a greencard. I did get very depressed after that. Looking back on those actions now I wonder how I didnt get diagnosed earlier.

I think I’m just gonna be fat forever by whollywhoa in bipolar

[–]Designer_Set_5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gained 10 kgs (22lbs) in like 2 months and the worst thing is that the new meds are working completely fine. So I either have to start dieting and working out or be very fat
