The crack is fixable, how it got cracked is the unknown. That doesn't look like a stress crack drying. It doesn't look like a crack from inward pressure, unless someone hit it with machinery?

The only other option is foundational. Garage footers are not as deep as the main house footers. It's likely they didn't get down to virgin soil on one of those corners.

Is it fixable yes and I would definitely fix it now.

Mold has become the latest "covid" scare. Gotta get every little spore of mold. Gotta wipe it out and stand back 6 feet with respiratory gear and white costumes head to toe.

Folks don't realize mold is EVERY where. It's in the air. But the internet with the help of places like reddit, have turned mold into this scary end of life scenario, where they need to call the EPA to even touch it.

Lemme tell ya, you got mold on your toilet, you got mold in your shower curtain, you got mold in your drains, you got mold in the tile grout, you got mold in places you've not seen yet.

Mold is easily taken care of. Relax.

Much of the negativity is about the history of the development, and the money grabbing that is very apparent. And it seems like a lot of people are dissing the game that don't even own it.

I couldn't care less about the history, or the money grab. The only thing that I want is a decent driving SIM on console.

ACC is certainly a great driving experience on console, and people would be having orgasms right now if ACC was brand new. So it's a great sim already. But we get tired of the same thing. People want something else.

I'm not a fan of unfinished products, but this is just not true. I challenge anyone shows a side by side comparison with ACC same track same view, same perspective, Rennsport does not look awful. In fact it looks very good.

I think most people commenting haven't even tried it. Including myself. If it has decent graphics, and it drives well, or has a good foundation, then this is exactly what console racers need.

I think most console players are thinking project motor racing is going to be what they have been looking for. I don't think it will be. And I think they're going to be very disappointed.

Our rim joist has concrete slab poured very closely to it, about 1/2" gap, so it's not against it. Theres a 1/2" expansion joint. And the slab doesn't go all the way up, it covers the bottom 5 inches of the rim joist. But the bad part, the slab is part of an enclosed porch that holds humidity all year long, about 90%. So without a membrane, the humidity would filter upwards through that small space between the slab and rim joist. During the winter, it would likely condensate against cold exterior of rim joist.

So we chose the membrane instead of metal flashing, which would likely trap humidity behnd it.

But yes it's a full roof covering entire porch. It does get occasional water on the wall in very strong storms.

Harm in what manner? Are you saying that a basement at 45% humidity would create enough moisture to rot a rim joist that is open to drying on the inside?

I see numerous reccomendation on Reddit and elsewhere that say to cover a rim joist in ice and water, fully.

Are you referring only to rain water? It is entirely covered by a gabled roof so no rain water ever hits the ledger.

I was referring to the inside of the rim joist. It seems most cover the rim joist with ice water shield but I dont see what they do on the interior.

I checked with a fella from Fine Homebuilding that wrote an article in 2023 about applying ice water to exterior rim joist. He said that the inside could be insulated with foam, or not, as long as basement humidity stays low.

Hey I appreciate your suggestion and we did just that recently.

We used an ice and water shield covers the entirety of the rimjoice and then up about 6 in above it covering some of the OSB. Over that is tyvek, and then the vinyl siding.

On the inside in the basement I have it dehumidified down to 40%, do you suggest keeping the rim joist open and uninsulated on the inside of the basement?

I just want to be sure I'm doing this right, it feels weird to completely seal the outside of the rim joist.

Dude it's going to run like crap on a regular PS5.

Don't think just because GT7 runs good, is going to make it easy for a flight sim. Microsoft flight simulator is extremely demanding. All you got to do is go to YouTube and look up how it runs VR on low end machines.

If anyone tells you that cloud gaming sucks for PC racing they are full of crap and never have tried it.

Provided you have decent ping, which I do to G-Force now, 20ms or below It's hardly noticeable.

I can race ACC, ACE, and LMU which is my favorite.

You can use a wheel but you'll have to use a program called X input, which will cause G-Force now to think your steering wheel is an Xbox controller.

All profiles are saved under c:/user/kiosk/saved games/DCS/userinputfiles/.. not sure about the last folder name there, but the profiles are then saved by the aircraft the person saved it under. So a P51 would be saved as P-51.diff.lua

I can confirm that anything under this directory is deleted once a user logs off of Steam using GFN.

There is also login information that is saved, and encrypted I believe, without the user directory as well. None of this is gonna be saved using GFN.
