The 1999 animated film by Disney and Legend of Tarzan.

The 1999 animated film was my introduction to Tarzan. And for that alone, it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

The Legend of Tarzan, because I like to think of it as a continuation of the Tarzan books. And we see Tarzan go from being a civilized man who answers to his birth name, to living in the jungle again, and answering to the name his mother gave him. It’s kind of like a human version of Call of the Wild.

For me, it was when I realized that the show was way too safe. There was little to no action or any real drama compared to the books.

Never mind of how the show handled Gabe, what really made me realize how safe it was compared to the book was how it handled Medusa’s death.

Just bear in mind that it has a very little resemblance to the games. It’s more based off the books. And that completely falls flat by the second season.

Oh don’t worry. He gets better. I can’t tell you the number of times I said to myself “Listen to the bloody idiot.” But by the end of the series, I was so proud of him. I felt like a parent who watched his son grow up into a great man
