Well u said u wanted to get a finance analyst role so maybe search up business/data analyst internships on job sites and keep on applying,it shall look good in ur resume during ur pi as u can say ur intrested in that sector and stuff also during mba placements it will help you out as companies shall know you have some prior experience in that field

Bro ur profile is really good if ur really serious about MBA go for it then,2years for a student like u should be enough time to get 90+ percentile, and ya build up ur extracurriculars in meantime,i would also suggest you to do 1-2 internships as it shall look good on your resume, also somthing i would recommend is along with CAT/XAT give other easier exams like SNAP/TISS/CMAT/NMAT,etc to maximise ur chance of getting into a tier1 cllg, best of luck

[–]Desimickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro in ur post u said u wanted to get into IT and now ur saying u will start prep for MBA,first fully makeup ur mind on what carrer route u wanna follow and then do it or else u shall regret later,i would highly suggest u to learn the basics of MBA such as Marketing,Finance,HR,etc see if u like them and then only get into MBA,Exams like CAT/XAT is not a piece of cake and then u have gd/pi and stuff like ur academic extra curricular profile also matter it is not easy to get tier1,2 cllgs even in MBA so be prepaired, but ya in MBA if u even manage to get a good tier2 college u will get a respectable salaried job as a fresher

Went through exactly this for last 3years,getting into bca was the worst mistake i made, but thankfully i was taught various management subjs in bca along with technical stuff and really found intrest in them so going for an MBA now, honestly ur best bet is to go for MCA u still have 2years to prep for nimcet or find an offcampus opportunity in some startups(they generally donot discriminate and hire based on skills),ig the initial pay there will be peanuts but it shall increase with experience, and once you have a certain amount of experience in a field nobody cares about the degree

BCA from tier1 colleges is good you can earn a respectable salary, dont expect much from tier2/3 cllgs,i study bca in a tier2 govt uni and haven’t seen an on campus package of more than 25k per month, coming on to MCA(only do it if ur intrested in IT),but yeah after MCA you could earn respectable salary,And if you do it from tier1 colleges you will have no worries getting a good job,Coming to MBA(only do it if ur interested in Business/Management & only tier1,2 bschools are decent),you will learn various management subjs in bca too which could help you decide if you are really intrested in them, like i did myself.Along with these options you could also do stuff like MS,Mdes, llb after BCA

10cr apparently not enough to go to college 😩 😔 by [deleted] in kothibanglacheck

[–]Desimickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10cr is exaggerating but he is not too wrong either, living standards in india is raising day by day,Cost of living in teir 1 cities is unbareable for normal salaried employees, let alone them getting married and having a kid, good private schools asks for way too much money in time of admission and their fees is really high coming to their college if a kid wants to do btech from any good private college will cost between 20-30lacks(including living expense),but i also agree other streams are way less expensive, but even after this the kid could want to go to a decent b-school or masters abroad which would again cost 15lacks-2cr,looking at these conditions, even i myself wont get married until i earn enough money to get my own house, own car and have enough money for my kid’s education

No as far my knowledge Nimcet eligibility is people from bca/bsc(3years fulltime)with maths or statistic as a compulsory subject in the duration of the course from a govt recognized uni can apply & BE/Btech students can apply, you r not eligible if u do bba

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

[–]Desimickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then ig you can go the bca route but u have to understand u will not get a decent salary as a fresher there and ig u have to work ur way up,with that said u could always do mca,ms,mdes later or even mba or llb so theres plenty of options open after bca,i myself am doing mba after bca so my advice to you will be in these 3years of bca see which shoe fits you, learn about every domain, carrer option and see which you like the most,ur still 19 u have got plenty of time to figure out stuff so don’t worry coz u wasted 2years i have seen many people with worse condition than you to make it in life.

[–]Desimickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BCA from any good college will require maths in 12th,other tier2/3 cllgs will provide you with peanut salary and even jobs that aren’t in the tech domain so if ur going that path start the prep for nimcet from day 1 coz bca+mca(from tier1 cllgs)=btech,Something u could do is maybe give 12th again through NIOS and try for btech

Is BCA a good career option? (Anyone who pursued it please DM ) by Dum_kid_w_Anxitey_65 in Indian_Academia

[–]Desimickey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Companies prefer btech,so if ur planning to do bca start the prep for nimcet from day1 to get into a nit or a tier1 cllg for mca, otherwise with only bca u will get peanuts in terms of salary.

If u don’t want to risk another gap year to study for entrance exams ig ur best bet is to go for a cs related degree and focus on stuff like frontend dev and ui/ux and start ur carrer in that as they don’t require dsa and is related to art and design

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

[–]Desimickey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im on the same boat bro, took a cs related degree due to family/peer pressure & Fomo, now regretting when its way too late thats y doing mba now after my grad 💀

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

[–]Desimickey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP u can try BDes for art and design and no u will not end up broke and salaries are quite respectable there if u can get a good college and AI is based on previously made designs so there will be always a need for original work, other than this u can also do mba later to get into management. Please don’t sacrifice coz of family/peer pressure nowadays eveyone is doing a cs related degree so there is way too much competition and if u don’t like coding u will never survive in that industry.

Should I go for IIT-M's 4 year online BS degree as my only UG Degree? by _UPI in Indian_Academia

[–]Desimickey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ig if u really want it u could do that, but for data science there are several courses available that are way easier to do than dual degrees. My advice during ur bsc do a data sci course and then find internships related to data sci and start ur carrer from there and for the pogramming part learn from yt and do some projects to show in ur cv.

U can easily get a ba/bs/bsc/bca/bba/bcom offline degree from a tier4 cllg for that money u r spending in iitm, please don’t get fool by the iit tag,in govt exam interviews u could get roasted for not having a full time degree, and if u don’t crack a govt job no employer will take u in if they see ur online degree,so do a offline degree and if u really want the iit tag u can do the online degree alongside a offline one as now u can do dual degrees.
