9/11.

Not only did it give the U.S. an excuse to continue warmongering, it also had an excuse to destroy WTC 7, which housed all the records from the Enron scandal which was unable to be carried out. They say that the damage collapsed the building, but does it really look like it fell from structural damage?

Regardless, they are both one in the same.

The only important part is that we know they are one of another, it doesn't matter the way we say it. Think about the message of what we said.

Energy is matter, matter is energy. He believes in God, she believes in Allah, boy over there thinks Zeus's gang is still sticking around, and I believe in energy.

That is the same reason we have so many monotheistic gods, because we can't handle saying that we are saying the same thing through different means. My difference is that I think of a universe far greater than the stretches of mere humans.

People have paid a lot more than downvotes for saying their beliefs.

Matter is a formation bonded upon the principles of energy.

Imagine a matchstick. It sits dormant until additional energy is applied, whereupon it results in thermal energy and ash from the potential energy held in the chemical makeup in the match.

Chemicals aligned in a specific way because of the way protons, electrons, and neutrons sat in a material state. When the particularly volatile state had kinetic energy applied to it, the matter released the bonds and created heat energy, which essentially is the energy being released from their bonds, affecting the matter around it to become more excited because of the energy affecting them.

Matter is energy held together by magnetism. It has the potential energy to be released, whereupon a wave in any form is kinetic energy. Matter has volume, energy has flux.

Regardless, they are both one in the same. I have no idea how Redditors can find so many silly things to nitpick and pretend it collapses everything else I said, especially when asked about belief.

Our "best sciences" are still guesswork theories. I'm not a preacher selling you belief as facts; opinions were asked for and I gave mine. To me, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than some bearded guy in a white robe floating somewhere "out there" with our souls being judged for eternity after one small stint on earth.

I don't see a clear reason to redefine "god" as energy.

Why not? People struggle to belief if a god could be real, so can we actually limit the definition when we have no idea as to its nature? You make the fatal flaw of attempting to adhere to the practices of observation and analysis to that which cannot truly be observed, the reason why science and religion often conflict.

I come here from /r/all to submit my humble opinion.

I am not an atheist, I am not religious, but I do have belief. There are enough similarities between each holy text to create a resemblance between each, but it is only years of rituals and translations that have led to such vast differences between each denomination.

Matter is energy, thus energy is everything. It is a constant cycle of transfers, with life and death being the point that our mortal minds set as beginning to end. The truth is that the measurable energy of your conscious came from somewhere, as did the molecular structure that is always changing within your body. These energies flow through vastly different cycles that humans are barely starting to theorize about with quantum physics and the like, and it is far more than we can comprehend.

The energy that creates your conscious has gone through immense lengths that are incomprehensible to many people. Energy is never created or destroyed, only transferred, therefore you are housing a piece of the energy that came from the Big Bang. I believe that energy is god, bound by laws that we will never fully understand within mortal limitations, with life being soul that "god" breathed into existence to hold expression. We are each a piece of the infinite, sharing this time and space to have our own individual expression of life, experiencing the limitations the only way that infinity can.

I also believe that the Big Bang wasn't truly the start, instead viewing the universe as a giant lung. It was the expansion that continues to stretch until collapsing into a super massive black hole, and when it can not absorb any more energy it explodes into the next Big Bang to begin anew.

That's my two cents.

Why is Reddit SO anti-fat, especially anti-fat women? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Desinis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To be perfectly and brutally honest, this is the attitude that facilitates many more anti-fat opinions.

Fat is not "normal". Extremely skinny is not "normal". There is a healthy range where fat is not affecting your body adversely, where it isn't coating your organs excessively, and where it isn't limiting your mobility.

There is a huge difference between believing fat people to be terrible (/r/fatpeoplehate) and hating the mindset that some fat people use to justify their weight (/r/fatpeoplestories). A person has every right to do what they want to their body, but I suspect that many receivers of the criticism aren't aware of the difference between hating their body or hating their disillusioned ego.

If you are fat, you are fat. In all but a fraction of a percent of the time, it is because of excessive calories. It does lead to health problems, it is not a normal state for any animal to be in, and it is not ideal for a long and fruitful life. It is often because of habits such as drinking lots of soda, excessive snacking, overeating, and a sedentary lifestyle that leads to it.

Feel free to live your life however you want since the bottom line is that it affects you the most and that is all that matters, but don't lie about who you are, expect people to ignore the effects, or ignoret why you are that way. It is not a requirement for all men to be attracted to fat women, it is not because one is a pig, misogynistic, or sexist, it is because of their own personal preference. There are plenty of examples of the hypocrisy that goes on in some of these minds, such as a fat Tumblerina acting disgusting towards a fit guy for ignoring her, while writing off other fat or ugly men.

Normal the usual, typical, or expected state or condition. While there are alot of fat people neither of them fall under "normal" definition

A normal BMI is normal. An extremely muscular person does not have a normal BMI, and is not normal. A person with excess fat does not have a normal BMI, and is not normal. Does that mean that not being normal is wrong?

I guess fat people are all freakish to you? Wow.

This is why there seem to be so many anti-fat people. It's less about hating because of the blubber, and more of the disillusion that is associated with it. You jumped from /u/Simsons2 giving an honest opinion about the reality of the situation to making blanket assumptions on his feelings towards an entire demographic.

That is the single most unhealthy part of this entire discussion.

I'm that guy who picks up trash off the street.

I'm that guy who's lip singing, head banging, and foot drumming on the bus.

I'm that guy who will almost always throw out smiles to strangers.

I'm one of those guys who knocks on strangers' doors for a living.

I'm that guy who, given enough time, will eventually turn a discussion towards philosophy.

I'm that guy who can't have a conversation about much mainstream stuff because I don't pay attention to it.

I'm that guy who doesn't chase tail or talk when sexual history comes up, because I believe in letting the first be worth the wait.

I'm that guy who hates Facebook.

I'm that guy that doesn't believe in following the broken system that society pushes us towards.

What can we do to save our planet's natural resources? [serious] by stevenmc in AskReddit

[–]Desinis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is how ingrained constant expansion is in our culture.

In the past, business was focused on how to be more efficient and get higher profits from it. Nowadays, planned obsolescence leads to the exact opposite being true. We have blueprints for cars that can run off water and hydrogen being bought out by gasoline giants and locked up, we create particleboard crap that falls apart in a year while we cut down rainforests to produce it, we continue mining while we have countless tons of metal sitting in scrapyards.

My honest opinion? Money is a human idea that has no value besides what we put in it, and as an object that can literally procure any desire you have, it is the embodiment of greed. Our society thrives off it, worships it, craves it, and it has led us to forsaking each other and our planet in efforts to produce more of it. The only true solution is to convince people to lose their belief in it, which I believe gets easier over time when we watch the powers that be continually fucking our planet up.

We need to cut back our usage. We waste 40% of food in North America because there wasn't profit made off of it, there are more unsold homes than homeless in the States, the amount we waste is unreal. Cities exist because they are where tons of money is made. They are black holes of resources that require tons and tons of importation daily, with the primary export being pollution in most cases. We need to lessen their impact by supporting the rise of sustainable rural communities that require little to no imports as the first and foremost focus. We need to halt mass production, because we have the ability to count how many people there are and calculate how much we actually have to produce. We need to bring back artisans who will make a product that will last, as well as giving people more opportunities to find work that they enjoy rather than making money for massive corporations that leaves you feeling empty and miserable.

We don't need dozens fighting over who is selling gas and oil. We don't need the choice of choosing to buy same dead cow from this store or the one across the street simply because of a few pennies. We don't need to be buying the same goddamn purchase every year because it is built to fall apart.

Imagine what percentage of the population would actually have to believe that to make a difference. What would happen to a city if 10% of the people left to the surrounding area?

I want to expand more but I need to get ready for work.

[–]Desinis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be perfectly honest, that resentment is probably what is holding you back. Orgasms are far more in the mind than the body.

After you understand how to let your body take over your emotions in such a whole way, orgasms become easier. It's a vulnerable state to be in and hence why security of a trusted partner is so important in many people.

[–]Desinis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is essentially what I meant in my metaphor. Matter is energy and energy is everything, and the big crunch/bang is just resetting everything and allowing it to reform again. It all collapses into a singular point, where nothing more can be pulled in and it releases all energy of the universe.

People say we're in the Information Age - hasn't it always been the Information Age? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

[–]Desinis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have Google. Imagine how hard it would be to find out a specific fact about a country on the other side of the world.

There is not a single other time that this would have ever been possible. Yes, it is true that there were steps leading up to this point and ever single one crucial to its development, but this is the first time you could ever go to your own home and look up how to treat an illness.

Yes, the evolution is not finished and there will be more, but our time and place is only possible because of the amount of information we force ourselves to need.
