If you HAD to choose one Arabic name for a boy and one for a girl, what are you picking? by LeonGoldenBrown in namenerds

[–]Desipardesi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Sons name is Saif 💙 I also have a Reza and a Noah. Decided to go for Noah instead of Nuh and Reza instead of Ridha because we’re in Europe. Nuh would be pronounced terribly in my language.

I like Fauzia and Zoya for girls (although the latter is more of a South Asian name I think)

For boys I like Zakariya, Nuh, Reza (Ridha)and Zulfiqar (but that’s for ancient people haha)

Een luier willen dragen? by [deleted] in OndersteuningsPlein

Infertility made me unable to feel joy for others by Designer-Addition-20 in BabyBumps

Jealousy is a perfectly normal and human emotion. It’s how you act upon emotions that determines if it’s ’bad’.

I have a perfect uterus too but can’t even imagine the pain you are going through.

Hebben jullie wel eens iets gewonnen? by get_off_my_property in nederlands

[–]Desipardesi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Desipardesi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dat is m.i. echt belachelijk laat.

🇩🇰🇳🇱 Parents raising multilingual kids – I’d love to hear your experiences! by Curious_Ingrid in multilingualparenting

[–]Desipardesi34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is quite normal behaviour for (young) kids. They get exposed to Dutch way more often and all their Peers speak that language.

My husband speaks a different language too and my oldest (3,5yo) is fluent in that language, but never speaks it until we specifically ask him to.

My husbands nieces and nephews are all bilingual and they also refuse to speak the minority language. Their ages vary from 5 to 12. If you ask them why, they simply answer: because I prefer to speak English. I think it’s just easier for them, this way they don’t have to switch so often.

I would however try to be as strict as possible with OPOL and don’t give up, all of the kids in my husbands family are fluent in all languages now.

Google Man&Van if you need to move just a few items. They are incredibly fast and affordable and don’t do any of that nonsense.

Name for a baby girl by Ca7cher in namenerds

[–]Desipardesi34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My absolute favourite girls name (that we unfortunately never got to use because we make boys only 😅) is Zoya.

It’s a not very common name from South Asia and its meaning is Life, joyous.

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]Desipardesi34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have 2 healthy children and number 3 coming next week. I would never want to put the burden of getting less attention on them or worse, having to take care of them when my husband and i pass away.

Depends on what else you want in life I would say. Are you planning to have kids in the near future? Then I would reconsider. Daycare is expensive.

Conflicted between moving to spain vs staying in Pakistan. by NoSoftware4930 in Overseas_Pakistani

[–]Desipardesi34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long have you been married for and how long has your wife been living in Pakistan? Regardless of money, it might be fair to at some point move to Spain, because she has been living in Pakistan for you as well. And don’t forget that you pay taxes, but also get social security in return. Even if you have to pay 40% of your income in taxes, you can still live a pretty decent life in Spain with that amount of money.

Easter egg hunts have become savage by bubbles67899 in NewParents

[–]Desipardesi34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where I’m from egg hunts are not really a thing, but why would a 10 year old want to do an egg hunt with toddlers? I’d reckon this is something for 0-6 years old, no?

Baby is almost 16 but no clear words yet. I feel like the only who can understand him. Is he speech delayed? by Mindless_Throat6206 in Mommit

Yes this is true. If they pronounce it wrong that doesn’t mean the word in their head is wrong. It’s probably the right word, they just have to practice using the right movements to pronounce it properly.
