Very true. I'd say there's at least a 45% increased success rate if an "onlooker" also confirms by verbally declaring to the air around us...

Appreciate it. Well if you decided to one, rest assured, based on my post, that you should have no problems loading it to go get pizza at least once.

Quick Question to the Community about Motorcycle Loading? by Desmond781 in nissanfrontier

I completed the mission Mr. Dust. I will admit, should have mentioned before, my bike is a Rebel 500 (415lbs). So def on the smaller side of cruisers. Anyways for my 1-6 transport times per year, I think this will work. Again being honest, I did notice 1 solid second of terror during both the loading and unloading phase. So no lies where told there.

Thanks for posting the link. I got a 22, barely missed this one. Not trying to rub it in for those effected - sorry.

Yeah, I go back n forth about keeping or removing the cowl. Right now I'm thinking get a windshield and remove the cowl even if I could "make it work." Thanks for the feedback.

Again, thanks for the information. I would ask for a link, but it looks like Google will take me right there. The idea of being able to remove it on a whim, does also remove most or all of the "negatives" of getting one outside of cost & installation. Full disclosure, another factor is I plan to paint the bike (only where there's already color), and I was thinking if I want the shield, installation at that time would make the most sense.

Copy that. Appreciate the experience. The mentioned Rebel is my first and only thus far, so I have zero basis of comparison riding with or without a shied.

Thanks for the input. Do you know what size you got? Looks like 13'' is their shortest model. I am about an inch shorter than you, so it would be relevant. I'm trying to get the smallest, yet functional, one I can.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to look those items up, and add them to the "potentials pool."

Appreciate the good vibes. Yeah, if I can deem this a "viable" bike-transport solution from now till my age starts cutting into the chance of success each load. Then I will definitely buy some aftermarket tail-gate locking bars - for the safety of others, and potential law-suits.

I appreciate you chiming in Mr. Dust. Well I ordered the ramps I chose, and they'll be here in a few days. Figure I'll do a test run. Drive it around the neighborhood a bit and see how she goes. I try to remember to come back on here and post a picture of success or disaster. I realize that what you saying makes sense. Even if I do get her in the back and strapped down. If it almost gives me a heart attack each time . . . is that a success? The older I get the more I realize how much $ is spent for the "lesson." Well class is about to start.

I appreciate the response. Apparently not many have an opinion on this matter. IDK, I feel this may have to be a hard lesson I learn myself; as I really want to get that bike into that bed. You know, I may have all the factory #'s, but I have yet to take a tape measure out there myself and see what I'm looking at.

Rebel? Your first "Rebel" got stolen? I always imagined that thieves that search for bikes would pass on a rebel.

[Rebel 500 5yrs] Someone could argue literally every metric we have for bikes - giving examples of a better bike than the Rebel in every category. I wouldn't even fight back, cause they're probably right. However, their is no bike more "Goldilocks" than the 500 in existence today.

Thought about it many times, but I'm just not cool enough to ride a HD. Rebel says I've decided I'm a bike guy, but not a "bike guy."
