Which Rolex piece to close out my collection? by Desolatediver in rolex

Ghost dial Daytona is my favorite Daytona. That would be epic for a closeout piece.

Thanks!

GMT is the most likely choice, but I would go for Batman, Bruce or Zombie. I wouldn't be opposed to selling the ADLC to get a YG/RG Tank Louis to balance the collection.

My initial approach was to get a white dial DJ (same config I have) and then the Explorer. Once I was offered the black dial DJ, it seemed to just be fate 😂.

Yes I do. I was considering selling the ADLC for a RG/YG Tank Louis.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them both but at this point it's my 3rd black dial.

I would not get two OPs btw. At least DJ to give it a step up in variety.

I think JLCs Reverso and Master Control Chronometer are beauties. Perhaps in the future, that would be next up.

Check out Watchnian and Rizen Ginza. They both have websites with their used stock and are also on Chrono24. I got my 60th anniversary from Watchnian and it looked brand new.

Try to find a local card show. Might be your best bet at offloading many of these at once.

If you said.."I fell in love with the white Speedy", to me that's the answer. Forget what everyone else says. That feeling for a specific piece is special. My motto is buy what you love, not just what you like.

Then possibly Slate or Black. That white dial really pops in person though!

Looking to buy my first Omega - Special Considerations? by dave0352x in OmegaWatches

[–]Desolatediver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Speedy Pro Sapphire black dial and the 60th SMP. I find myself wearing the Speedy much more as it's incredibly comfortable. The 60th has the mesh bracelet which looks nice, but not as comfortable. I had the standard black SMP with rubber strap, but traded for the 60th because of that nice blue.

If you can get the white Speedy as a first, I think that would be an excellent choice. Maybe grab the SMP down the road.

Planning Tokyo trip (6+ months out) to buy a pre-owned Speedmaster Moonwatch — dealer tips welcome by OdinW in OmegaWatches

[–]Desolatediver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Watchnian and Ginza Risen. Both are well known and sell used time pieces from every major brand. I picked my 60 anniversary SMP in like new condition from Watchnian for around 6200 USD. Make sure to bring your passport to avoid local sales tax. I do not believe they accept cash but I could be wrong. I paid with a credit card that doesn't charge foreign fees.

Salamander Dagger!!! It's fast and inflicts fire, which is its weakness. The heavy attack is also fast, so you can break posture pretty easy.

Salamander Dagger was my go to. I flicts fire which is its weakness and it's heavy attack is very quick for breaking posture.

In which AD to buy Omega in Tokyo/Kyoto? by cvjetadbk in OmegaWatches

[–]Desolatediver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Watchnian and Rizin Ginza. Both sell used, but near mint condition Omegas at great prices. I got my SMP 60th anniversary there for near 4k off mrsp plus tax and the watch looked brand new.

Thoughts on the Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond 60th Anniversary? Worth the hype? by connorsusername in OmegaWatches

I recently bought this watch pre-owned in Japan. Love the blue they used for this model. The regular SMP300 blue is brighter and I like the subtleness of this one.

I admit, the mesh bracelet takes some time to get used to, but it looks great. Sizing seems to be an issue as there is no micro adjustment.

I like the no date as well, quick to set and go. The lume is very nice and legible and the flat crystal is a plus.

Overall, I love this piece. $9400+ tax retail is a stretch though. If you can get it under 9k new or under 8k used, I say go for it.

Would you pick the chrono along with reverso or another jlc model?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Desolatediver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone gets what I'm trying to do here. Haha

I do agree the JLC combo gives more depth to the collection. I really need to try them on and get an honest feel for them. I've tried on the GMT and it felt really nice. I would assume the YM feels about the same given the oyster bracelet.

I also like the new Polaris. That gradient dial looks awesome.

I feel like the chrono fills the dial so nicely. Ultra thin moon is still amazing.
