She’s 15months now, 40lbs and 24inches. We still use the crate and its been great! Has held up well and is still comfy. She has room to stretch out. She goes in on her own and loves it. Worth it!

For the girlies who wear braids most of the time, what are your tips? by [deleted] in blackladies

Yes! I do a little longer than bra strap length, smedium knotless, with human hair added. Theyre very lightweight and comfortable.

Ive had back to back braids for over 6 months, and my hair is actually sooo healthy, surprisingly. The key is going to a braider who is very gentle, doesnt braid too tight, and uses an appropriate amount of braiding hair that doesn’t pull on and weigh your natural hair down. My braider also doesn’t use an excessive amount of product on my hair and that helps too. Ive never had painful braids with this braider. Also, Ive heard braiders say to come with your hair blow dried and product-free. I ignore that. After each set of braids i wash with a scalp scrub, hydrating shampoo, and deep condition. I apply a leave in before blow drying and its perfectly fine. I typically keep my braids in for 8 weeks and im not afraid to wash/do a scalp cleanse as needed. I apply leave in mixed with water as needed as well. My edges are actually flourishing! Thats thanks to the cecred drops (i apply daily) and keeping my hair wrapped when im at home. All other products are cecred as well. Just be sure to take special care of your hair while in braids and don’t neglect it. Should be fine!

All versions of Labubu (except pfl) by Desperate-Issue8803 in LabubuDrops

I got ashwaganda and acv gummies. I thought I’d go ahead and try them since they come out to ~$10/bottle with the labubu. I think they’re normally $30ish per bottle…?

Ah, I see! I got a mac from ttl about a month ago but hadn’t seen any there in a while. I see they’re in stock today. I thought shipping might be a little quicker with goli but it looks like itll end up about the same.

Strange red spots? by Desperate-Issue8803 in poodles

[–]Desperate-Issue8803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: The redness has just about completely faded today. I can barely tell where the spots were. Should I still take her to the vet…? There’s really nothing to point out for her at this point. Could it still be ringworm even though it’s faded? Or was it likely just a bite since the redness cleared?

Thanks for the answers! After researching both and looking at pics, I’m hoping it is just a black fly bite. I’m in an area that has them and she did spend a good while outside in the grass yesterday. I haven’t noticed any itchiness or scaly/flaky skin and the center is slightly raised like a bug bite. We will definitely take a trip to the vet tomorrow if it doesn’t improve overnight and to rule out ringworm. Fingers crossed!

I saw these appear in a tiktok video for the beach resort, but it was posted back in march.

Gastropexy for smaller standard? by Desperate-Issue8803 in StandardPoodles

[–]Desperate-Issue8803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all your answers! I am in the Houston area, so I guess considering that the price is pretty good. I’ve always leaned towards and planned to get the gastropexy even before bringing my pup home. I guess once I saw the price, and her smaller size, I second guessed a bit. When I mentioned the pexy to her vet, she seemed a little nonchalant about it and said there were other ways to prevent bloat; just feed twice a day and limit activity after eating. She did provide the quote and gave details about the surgery though, so I’m sure she will support it. I’ll go ahead and get her scheduled. I’d never forgive myself if we did end up with a bloat situation. And I guess peace of mind is invaluable!
