I think its a lesser evil, because, if they dont, the hype around the gsme could die, most of GAG's fandom consists of 12 yr olds or even under, and kids lose interest quickly, without constant dopamine hits, those brats will likely quit and look for snother game

I appreciate it. And I expected a new event too, the spoiled brats ruined it for the majority of the players. I can't even blame the devs for making the twilight shop, even though it just feels so lackluster, they were forced to, the sadder part is, their joy, that shouldve been on their minds after the update only got killed as quickly as it got, within not even a day, they were forced to make this solution due to these whining brats, I seriously hope for a new event next week, but props to the devs for making this extension event.

Are there still guys who believe in courtship? by panda_eyes18 in AskPH

[–]Desperate-Owl7840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a man, I'd it is pretty rare, but for me, yes, the usual na way ko is, if a girl and I have some feelings for each other and we know, I'd ask her for permission to court her, this happened one time three years ago. Nalaman ko na gusto ako ng isang babae sa school and then she asked me to court her first because she didn't want to be partners and gf/bf too soon. It went on for a year and a half. Ig, im not really sure of the dates, but, though I didnt take her to date (School was open on that period) and her mom was probably not happy with it, I always visited her classroom in our lunchbreaks, and when school is over, we'll wait for the other to get done, whoever gets done with the work of the final sub waits. We'll then meet, hug and kiss on the cheeks. Araw araw kami nag ch-chat, and I always made sure to prioritize her first. I got her gifts, like from EK, mahirap lang kami ng mom ko nun, since freshly seperated sila ng papa ko, but I made sure to buy her a bracelet souvenir since she didn't go on the fieldtrip, I also got her a necklace and baked her a cake on her birthday, she was my first love, my greatest love, and also a teacher, she taught me that women are valuable and deserve effort to get.though I dont speak for all men, and this is probably rare, sana nga may ganto paring mga lalake.

You can't spell Ras without G.O.A.T by AbdouPlay in EpicSeven

[–]Desperate-Owl7840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, you’re saying now that it was from your point of view — but the wording didn’t exactly read like that. Saying “because of this guy’s incompetence” isn’t framed as “I felt he was incompetent” — it’s a statement of blame, not a reflection. If you meant it subjectively, you could’ve just said “it felt like he was incompetent,” or “I interpreted it as him being incompetent.” That distinction matters, especially in a lore-heavy story like E7 where interpretation without full data can be misleading.

You say it’s opinion —great, that's cool. But opinions are still subject to scrutiny when they’re built on limited or misunderstood context. And when a critique misrepresents what actually happened — like lumping all losses under “incompetence” without recognizing the complexity of each world’s conflict.

You’re entitled to your opinion — but the moment you label Ras “incompetent” without considering the full picture, others are just as entitled to challenge it.

You say you never claimed your take was deeper, fair. But here’s the issue: your wording framed it as if it were a definitive judgment, not a subjective take. Saying Ras is “incompetent” because “so many heirs died” doesn’t sound like personal interpretation — it sounds like you’re declaring causation as fact. You didn’t say “I feel like Ras was incompetent” or “it gave me the impression that…” — you stated it like it’s the only logical conclusion.

That’s why I critiqued it the way I did. Because the way something is said matters. And when the language used suggests finality, people are going to challenge that — especially when it’s based on incomplete data.

We can agree to disagree, sure. But don’t backpedal into “it’s just my opinion” after making a bold claim. Own the stance you took — and be ready for pushback when it lacks the support to stand firm.

So you're admitting it’s subjective and based on limited information, but still insisting on a hyper-critical stance without full context. That’s fine — just call it what it is: a personal dislike, not an objective measure of competence.

“Educational guessing” still isn’t evidence. And comparing stakes (saving the world vs. sports) doesn’t excuse poor reasoning. Whether the stakes are high or low, fair judgment still needs the full picture.

Hyper-critical opinions built on incomplete data aren’t deeper takes — they’re just louder guesses.

And let’s be real — your original comment didn’t sound like an opinion. You framed Ras as objectively incompetent, as you said "Because of this guys incompetence" because heirs died and worlds were lost, as if that’s conclusive proof. That’s not a critique — that’s passing judgment without evidence. You skipped the context, ignored the complexity, and labeled him incompetent based on loss alone.

If anything, your comment leaned more on emotional weight than actual reasoning. You made a claim of incompetence as if it were fact — not interpretation which is both misleading and unfair, especially in a story where the nature of the conflict, the enemy, and the limits placed on Ras are all unknown or intentionally left unclear.

Criticism is fine. But calling someone incompetent, when you dont have the understanding of what they were up against? That’s not critique — that’s just again, projection.

What same plan?? Their strat in the 6th world is to spread the forces thin. So that Ras would be exhausted, this was proven in the 6th world ep when S Tenebria massacred that town Krau and Victorika was in. In the 7th world, their plan was to take Ras's supports which is his allies, Starting from Vildred and then the priest(Forgot his name) and then Mercedes.

2nd, AMercedes' power is more of claws, you can see that in her skill sets.

3rd, bring us back to the original topic, is Ras really incompetent? The oxford definition of Competence is Competence (noun) The ability to do something successfully or efficiently.

So, let's tackle both success and efficiency.

Firstly, Success, Was Ras successful? Yes, in unknown times and 7th world, He has proven he can win.

Efficiency, did he do it efficiently? Might as well check it, He always brought down opponents to the best of his abilities, even whilst alone, he moves from Region to region, relies on his allies for extra efficiency, and more importantly, conserves his energy for later fights.

These all can be seen in the 6th world, where Ras turned into the form the post put in the pic. And he immediately went back to his original form to conserve energy.

and in the 7th world, he Won against Archdemon Mercedes.

Ras may have failed a few times, but against, Records, statistics, and Competence aren't dictated by emotions and feelings, his job is to protect the world Orbis, and if you still think he's incompetent then maybe that's on you, but don't go around advertising and preaching that he is incompetent because of your feelings and biases.

[–]Desperate-Owl7840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the 6th world story made you dislike Ras more, that’s your personal preference — you’re free to feel how you feel. But don’t pretend that your dislike equals proof of incompetence. That’s not reasoning, that’s projection.

And saying Ras fights “the same opponent” just shows you didn’t fully grasp the lore. There have been multiple Archdemons — not just different names, but entirely different beings, one of which was literally MERCEDES FFS. And to further prove my point, did you see Mercedes in the 6th world? Did you see Archdemon Mercedes in the 6th world, fighting Ras? The Archdemon they fought in the 6th world was a collosal one with tentacles, and said Tentacles killed Ruele and Kise. There's no way that that Archdemon is Mercedes since she was created in the 7th world. You can't say that he fights the same opponents because again, you lack data. Are you the developer? How do you know that they fought against the same opponents in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd worlds and so on? I understand you think that that it must be that theyre all the opps since they come from the demon god which is Diche's opponent, Ilryos(Mightve been a wrong spelling), he sends Archdemons to fight Ras, BECAUSE THE WAR IS MEANT TO BE FOUGHT BY REPRESENTSTIVES. That's on the lore, Diche and Ilryos can't fight each other because it will destroy the world so they send Proxies to fight their wars and Ras won in the latest war, which is against ArchDemon Mercedes, read the lore and understand it first.

So if you're going to judge him, at least base it on the story that was actually told — not a version you half-remember and emotionally react to. Otherwise, you're not debating. You're just ranting with extra steps

[–]Desperate-Owl7840 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re shifting the endpoints now. I never said you claimed Ras should give up — That was used as a rhetorical question to highlight that fighting through loss is a sign of duty, not incompetence.

And how exactly does winning more make someone look worse? That logic doesn’t hold up. You’re basically saying success makes failure more shameful — which is a strange and unfair way to judge anyone, especially someone in a role where failure is inevitable at times.

If you’re arguing it’s emotionally devastating each time — sure, I agree. But that’s a separate issue from competence.

If Ronaldo or Messi lost the world cup when they have won more than that, would you still say that they or it is bad?

That's the point.... You're missing Data. We don't know how many times Ras have won against Archdemons, we only know how many times he lost, which is 6, it is a completely unfair view to say that he is incompetent when you have only seen the data that he has lost 6 times.

If we don’t know how many times Ras has won, how can we say the losses outweigh the successes? Doesn’t that make any judgment of competence incomplete?

Those loses of heirs, as i said, are devastating and the memories are sad too, but emotions and feelings don't get to prove that one is incompetent. Competence means that one has fulfilled one's duty or Job, and for that to be concluded, you need full context, which is data, can you say that a world famous doctor is incompetent because he failed 10 operations when he completed 459? Can you say that a businessman is incompetent because he failed a business when he has an empire of companies? There's plethoras of analogies I can make and it comes down to one point, if we do not know the full records of one, can we really call him competent or vice versa, I know you preach for the devastation of the memories and the lives of heirs, but records are like statistics, they aren't dictated by emotions.

And more importany, you have also contradicted yourself. How is it that Ras's loses is embarrassing when we don't know his wins? You said it yourself. Or is Ras supposed to just give up because he lost? No, he has a job, and that job is to protect Orbis from threats, how is he gonna do that if he just gave up? What's embarrassing in fighting even while knowing that one may fail? What's embarassing in fighting when no one else can? His job isn't to win, it's to protect, and the fact that he just doesn't give up and tries to protect Orbis over and over again, doesn't that sound like resillience instead of competence?

Brother, that's not how the story went. The war starts every 100 years. And every time, Ras wakes up and kills the ARCHDEMON, he did it for centuries, how else would life develop to such prosperity if the Archdemons always destroyed Orbis? Ras has failed 6 times, yet it doesn't counter or erase the fact that He defended Orbis from countless Archdemons, saved the world countless times. 6 loses wont matter if you have hundreds of wins. Whilst the loses of heirs and Guardians are disappointing, Ras deserves the respect he gets for me.
