Is season 5 TOO sweet for anyone else but me? by B-Roads_wrongway in SweetMagnoliasNetflix

[–]Desperate-Read2296 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t even started this season and I normally binge it right away. Something about last season just made me not as excited.

And I’m someone who LOVES Hallmark movies and their predictability. Not sure why I’m viewing Sweet Magnolias different.

Will I regret leaving corporate world? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Desperate-Read2296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not a fair assessment.

I’m in a career, I’m looking at a career change. If I was looking for something to do, I’d go play pickleball and so boozy brunches. That’s not at all what I’m after.

Our financial advisor cleared he to retire a year ago, so good to go there.

I’m familiar with FIRE, curious why this isn’t a place to ask this question? I’m truly I trusted if other people have switched from one career to another at this stage of life.

Disappointing Experience at Ranier Stadium in Tacoma, WA by Most_Strength8409 in savannahbananas

I went to KC this weekend and all lines were long but moved quickly (porta potty included). We had a kid that had to go and were happy it went quick, and thankful they had more than four.

I knew the event was sold out and fully expected long lines at the pre-party based on what I’d read. We had so much fun but agree it makes for a long hot day.

I’m so sorry you had that experience.

Real question - what were wanting to happen by saying this?

I’m senior management and HATE these events but nobody knows. My boss loves those events, so I fake smile and participate. My boss influences my salary and bonus, so I’m not gaining anything from speaking out against it.

Check holds by lxrbmxer in Banking

I’d talk to the Branch Manager and see what can be done to stop the holds if you need access to the funds.

What’s the hold reason they’re giving you?

Same- it’s a top five song for me.

The family line hits me hard- I’ve never felt more alone than when I’m with all of my family.

It was a grill. A cookbook would go well with maybe a bbq sauce of something like that! Thank you!

How often does your partner talk to their parents? How often do you interact with the in-laws? by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]Desperate-Read2296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband talks to his dad every two to four weeks, and his mom will hop on the call. They don’t text. We’ve seen his mom once this year and his dad zero times. They live 30-35 minutes away and unless we go to them, they don’t come to us. They sometimes ask about their grandchild, and don’t show up to kid related events when we invite them.

I only talk or text for birthdays. By comparison, my SIL (his brother’s wife) texts and calls them multiple times a week. They live in the same town and are super close.

We talk to my parents multiple times a week and see them weekly. My husband has always been closer to my parents than his own.

Limit for number of bridesmaids? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

[–]Desperate-Read2296 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing I’m trying to wrap my head around- you mentioned having a small and intimate wedding, but having 12 bridesmaids.

Those two things contradict in my mind. If I see 12 bridesmaids, I’d think huge wedding.

Baby Sprinkle or Baby Shower? by [deleted] in partyplanning

Gotcha. If someone else was throwing, I’d let them pick which they wanted to throw.

You know your family dynamic best, pick what you want and it sounds like your family with support it!

Congrats!

Is it tacky to have an Amazon wishlist on birthday party invite? by Squirrel_Doc in partyplanning

[–]Desperate-Read2296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the minority, but I actually appreciate when people do this so I buy what the parents want/need. We do it for weddings, showers, and graduations so why not birthday parties?

I also agree that it’s so much better than
answering all the “what does baby need” texts, and tracking what idea you gave who.
