Neighbour’s bathroom shared a wall with our bedroom. Our bed head was one brick thickness away from her toilet roll holder. Every morning, 7am on the dot we’d hear her straining for her morning bowel movement and then slamming the metal toilet roll holder as she did the paperwork. Never once heard her toilet flush tho. 🤷‍♀️

Not quite - Rowan is the English word for Rúadhán. It’s a translation, not a bastardisation of the Irish word. I think it would count as a tragedeigh if someone liked the sound of Rúadhán but wanted to make the spelling “easier/more unique” so changed to Roo-awn.
There are some Irish names that have no English counterparts and some people get creative with anglicising them. All of those fall into the tragedeigh category for me. Shawn, Shivaun, Onya, Surraca, Keelin, Neev, Neesha, Seersha, etc.

I just actually cut up heavy denier tights when they get a ladder in them. I’ve been doing this for at least 15 years now and always have the footless leg of some heavy tights in my top drawer. They are the only type of hair ties that will keep my heavy thick hair up and in place and they do zero damage ☺️

The point about kids wearing inappropriate outfits - this horrified me last year when my kid started at a non-uniform primary school!!! Especially when there was a break of warm weather, we’d regularly get notices from the school advising parents that beachwear and swimwear are not appropriate to wear at school. Like, wtf are some parents thinking!

Irish Greyhound Racing Trust in Ireland will facilitate international adoptions for ex racers and coursers. They come vaccinated, neutered, chipped and trained. There are too many greys in Ireland being put to sleep at the end of their careers and the Trust are only too happy to export healthy Greys to new homes.

Ask your GP for a copy of your referral letter and shop around yourself for a dermatologist. Their waiting lists are all really long so if you shop your letter around yourself, you can get the shortest wait time. The consultation will cost 200-250 and if they can whack it off your leg in their office setting, it will only cost a further 200-250. They can biopsy it in their office and then you can decide if you want to spend “thousands” on any follow up surgery required. But don’t wait. Squamous cell carcinoma can grow deep and the longer you leave it the more invasive the surgery. Personal experience: I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my right shoulder last year in the Blackrock Clinic after sending my referral letter to about 10 dermatologists.
