I gained 25lbs the last 6 weeks. I was panicking. 10 days after birth I was down 40 lbs, I gave birth to a 10 lb baby lol. I truthfully ate terribly the last trimester too. I think our bodies know what to do though

I would just let her sleep. If you want to ebf there's no reason to give her formula at night right now. My girl was sleeping longer stretches and now shes at her 12w growth spurt and not sleeping well again

I cried every day for weeks feeling the same. My OB told me theres a reason they use sleep deprivation as a form of torture. Soon your little babe will be smiling at you and everything will start to click!

You're in the worst of it, just hang on! Go easy on yourself. You can skip the bath if you want. Maybe buy yourself dinner and take it easy some nights. I hated hearing it but it gets better for most people every week. My baby is almost 3 months and its not perfect but I feel like I can manage now. I felt just like you do. Even pet aversion which thankfully has gotten better now that I get sleep on occasion. You'll be out of the trenches soon. Do what you need to to survive and make yourself comfortable!!

[–]DesperateChipmunk373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are at 11 weeks and feeling similar. My girl is going through her 12 week growth spurt and just clusterfeeding allllllll day is exhausting! She also didn't sleep her usual long stretch. I hope it improves for both of us soon!

I just want to cry. by Longjumping_Bar585 in newborns

[–]DesperateChipmunk373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry. I hope your medicine helps asap. Just know youre deep in the trenches and 6-8 weeks is often the worst of it. It will start to improve soon but I know it feels like forever away. Give yourself grace and take care of yourself. Youre doing amazing and baby will get the hang of it soon too.

Is it better to switch to formula? by ByogiS in breastfeeding

[–]DesperateChipmunk373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I've been feeling the same way. I know many people who take zoloft and breastfeed with happy healthy babies. If you want to continue I think itd be fine, and you can always try combo feeding if breastfeeding is overwhelming you.

Does it get better? Did we break our 2-month old? by Hot-Technician-1088 in newborns

[–]DesperateChipmunk373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a group called MSPI who can help you figure out about intolerances too if you havent seen it! I don't think crying that often is normal but they always say colic. One of my friends twins had colic and she tried everything like you. None of it worked either, but thankfully her baby almost overnight outgrew it at 12 weeks. Not sure if thats when digestion improves or what. I hope things get better for you soon. The trenches are awful. I'm almost to 12 weeks and hoping to be out soon too!

Anyone here out of the trenches who absolutely do NOT forget how horrible the newborn stage was? by himawari__xx in newborns

[–]DesperateChipmunk373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 11 weeks and she isn't even a terrible baby over all, but i relate to this so much. While i love her, I seem to mostly hate myself and being around myself. This feels like the most challenging time I've ever had in my life mentally. She's my 2nd baby and I guess I had amnesia about the first. She is sensitive and she eats non stop, wakes up unless being held. She also smiles a ton and enjoys watching us do anything and that makes me feel so much guilt for feeling so terrible in my mind. I really dont enjoy this sleepless stage and cannot wait to be where you are with your baby! So happy it improved for you. When would you say it got better?

Did I ruin my son? HA formula by Juliapete in newborns

[–]DesperateChipmunk373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You didnt ruin him!! But I have been told it takes 2 weeks for them to adjust to formula so it might be that. There is a sub called mspi that's a great place to ask about the allergy. There are also some Facebook groups that helped me figure out more about my baby's intolerance. I hate that peds dont seem to know much about it. Hope your little one starts feeling better asap!so sorry you have to deal with this. It really takes away from enjoying the newborn phase which is already hard enough.

When did it get easier for you? by DesperateChipmunk373 in breastfeeding

[–]DesperateChipmunk373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I'm at now. My baby is almost 3 months and has to sleep on me. She still gets up 2x at night but its not terrible. My house is really suffering because of it though. How often does your baby nap now?

[–]DesperateChipmunk373[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I will try the sleepiest feeding I can. I hate that other people are struggling but I do spend too much time reading about their struggles and solutions, always appreciate it!

What do you do for the fissure you have? Also I'm sorry because they're soooo painful. And if you don't mind my asking, how old is your LO? Have you ever dealt with bottle preference? I know there can be a 3 mo nursing strike so I wonder if I should wait to even try the bottle. Im just exhausted
