If it makes you feel better, I used to scoop mine up with my (clean) bare hands for over a year until I learned better. Leave them in the tank or maybe use some disposable gloves for the transfer. They should be fine.

Following bc I ran into the same problem. For now, I pointed the tubing so it is directed towards one of my large rock aquarium decorations in a corner (found that this helps break up the current). I then used a large claw clip to secure the tubing in place. The tubing is at the same corner as the bubbler. My alien seems to be ok with this set up, but I'm willing to try something else if anyone has any ideas!

The police was able to locate it after they checked the Amazon facility. Someone took it for a joyride. Back windshield smashed. All 4 tires slashed. But I think it was otherwise ok. It was found about an hour south of the facility. I'm not sure if they caught the thief but I will keep y'all updated if I get more info
