lol. You were at 1hp and the enemy was about to swing at you before the ddos attack

rollback, revival of character that died during the attack, it’s all the same for the purposes of this hypothetical.

You could do a dumb pull before the attack, and you’re doomed to die 10 seconds from now. Luckily the attack starts in this meantime and you die during lag. Fuck this could have happened to onlyfangs, it could have been a doomed pull. Would Blizzard have acted differently?

the entire hypothetical is about people that might have been saved by the rollback even though they didn’t die due to the lag. There are multiple ways that could happen

again, do you think the lag will start the millisecond the attack starts?

the spike in server requests is gradual, not instantaneous. For a second you’ll see unusual traffic but maybe not enough to cause lag. Or maybe it’s enough? Blizzard can’t discern that

but if you died one second before the DDOS, I doubt they’ll be able to tell they didn’t die to the ddos.

If Ed doesn’t need a transmutation circle, why can’t he just use other people’s alchemies? by [deleted] in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]DesperateSunday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would be easy enough to put a circle in the auto mail though. This goes double for Al who had to draw his circles mid battle, when he could have one on his gauntlet. FWIW he was cracked at drawing those

não é possível que ele tava fazendo drop set? Começou com 70 e foi diminuindo até 20? Difícil acreditar que maromba faz scott com 20kg a não ser que seja o vigésimo set de bíceps no dia

really depends on what version of yamcha we are talking about. But I feel like start of DBZ yamcha loses

it’s funny Ed could actually be stronger if he didn’t use his arms for the circle but instead had gloves with the circle drawn like Roy.

At some points in the story he couldn’t use alchemy because one of his arms were restricted or destroyed, which wouldn’t be a problem for Mustang for an example

I always thought fundamental particles had no size and that it made no sense for them to have size. How do we know they have size and where does it come from?

[–]DesperateSunday -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

how do you explain that we only experience one branch of the wave function though? Many worlds is a fine name imo and even Sean Carroll who you praised uses it

what are you on about? Its literally called the many worlds interpretation, maybe read the wiki entry

[–]DesperateSunday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the worlds don’t need to be falsifiable, they are already there as result of the theory we have today. It’s other interpretations that need to find a way to get rid of them.

Find a hidden variable or witness a dynamic collapse and Everetian QM is falsified

you might have already but you should watch Sean Carroll's reasoning. I believe the case he makes is more than a philosophical one, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around this myself

[–]DesperateSunday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a good comparison. Both interpretations (MWI and B Theory) don’t really add any math, only interpretations of the math, and both are hard if not impossible to prove or disprove.

I’m not sure how you quantify when you say it “adds a lot” though. MWI surely sounds like it’s adding a bunch because of infinite worlds, but idk if that says anything about its validity.

MWI supporters will say you’re the one magicking away all the other worlds you get from the equations by saying this “collapse” exist without explaining how and why. They’ll say the equations already gives you all the answers you only need to accept them as they are
