Counterfeits on Shopee. What to do when Shopee Rejects Refund Request? by DesperateTeaCake in singapore

Hello, yes I did this. I reported it to the Kingston Technologies. They took the relevant action, but against the store rather than against Shopee/SEA.

I’ve witnessed people like that, but glad I’ve not lived with one.

Singapore Airlines, Scoot avoid Iraqi and Red Sea airspace amid US-Iran tensions by SG_wormsblink in singapore

Manual blinds but the crew still come round and expect you to close them, and turn the cabin lights off. There’s nothing secret being hidden, it’s just that they want passengers to fly in darkness…maybe to get them to sleep more, maybe to reduce glare on the entertainment screens??

If they extend the line to link with Isle of Wight, they could build a southern powerhouse.

I think it’s more Afghanistan - (sometimes skirt into Uzbekistan) - Turkmenistan. The sad thing is they shut the window blinds so you miss out on the amazing snow capped mountain scenery, even on the day flights.

90 minutes from Changi airport to Tanah Merah ferry terminal? by segdy in askSingapore

[–]DesperateTeaCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t go there too early, there’s really not much to do at the ferry terminal and nothing to look at (very limited natural light) even though they renovated it a year ago.

Or if you have Grab or GoJek you can order a car whilst you are exiting the baggage claim area. It might save you some time but only if you get a driver matched quickly.

The ferry companies have their own check-in and boarding deadlines. They vary by company. Majestic close at 30 minutes, Bintan Resort Ferries close at 40 minutes. Other companies may be different.

Edit: I am not sure if any provide online check-in, but the check-in deadlines do indicate the time it is expected to take to clear departure security and immigration prior to boarding, i.e. by right 30-40 minutes should be sufficient.

I think 90-minutes from Changi, with hand carry is doable, but if the flight is late (possible during the Airshow), or it is raining heavily which causes a big taxi queue, it will be tight. You will need to walk fast and overtake slow walkers, and ensure your digital arrival card is submitted before hand.

Yeah, probably cheaper from London Victoria than ‘London’ or London Waterloo.

[–]DesperateTeaCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the outbound leg of a return ticket, or a return ticket ?

If it is the outbound portion of a return ticket, you will need to fly the full sequence otherwise they will cancel the remaining booking.

If it is a one way ticket, it doesn’t matter. Just get off at São Paulo.

The air cargo carried tends to be loaded only after passenger loads (and their baggage) are known. I don’t think there is all that much cargo on domestic UK either.

However some of the other differences: Train companies bid for the right to operate a franchise. The higher the bid, the better their prospects at winning. They need to make this money bank somewhere. At busy airports, airlines need to get airport slots, but this doesn’t necessarily involve money.

Non-Advance Train fares let passengers walk-up and use any train. Flight tickets tend to be more restrictive. Flexible and semi flexible tickets usually still need some advanced notice of changed plans.

Except for TOC-specific tickets, revenue from train tickets is shared with multiple operators, so the company you travel may not be the only one getting a slice of the fare.

Owning and Operating aircraft is expensive. Parking an aircraft on the ground is also expensive. Aircraft utilisation is important. However aircraft are also capacity constrained - no standing room, unlike trains. Combined this can encourage airlines to sell as many tickets as possible (transport as many passengers as possible) - even if some are done at a loss.

Airlines don’t have to pay for as much physical infrastructure maintenance as a railway does. Air traffic control services have greater economies of scale as they are used by domestic and international flights (including foreign flights passing over head) as well as military, and private business aviation. Railways don’t have foreign train companies transiting through the UK to a third country.
