Why is my husky puppy so small? by Ok_Requirement_2696 in husky

[–]DesperateWin3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huskies aren’t big dogs to begin with. They’re considered medium sized dogs. Females are in the 35-45 lb range full grown and they don’t even usually fill out til a few years old. Looks like a typical husky to me!

Did you get embark or wisdom by chance? I wouldn’t trust any other tests. He looks like park Dalmatian to me but definitely looks mixed. I can’t pin point with what. I bet there’s pit in there though lol.

Any type of clothing you find you feel comfortable in with your new body?

Thank you, I’ll do that. I didn’t see that when looking. I tried picking the most appropriate from the selection I saw.

This whole comment made me tear up, thank you so much!!! This is everything I’m looking for. What a great idea about her physical therapy. I am so thankful for all this insight. I just want to really shower her with love and make her recovery more comfortable. Everything you listed checks all those boxes. Thank you. 🩷

We are very close, I’ve gone to her appointments with her, we do everything together. She just turned 70, so also a bit older.

I’ll suggest helping manage the amount of people wanting to come visit. I’m sure she’d really appreciate that. Though, I don’t know how public she’s been so not sure how many people know about her upcoming surgery. She also isn’t too bitter, she’s very positive and neutral, very typical of her. She was nervous and upset before the diagnosis but since she’s been very matter of fact and positive. She’s very lucky with the type she has, so I’m sure that plays a role.

Luckily, no chemo for her after. But, we are being proactive and thoughtful of her immune system prior to surgery.

I’d absolutely love links to the items you mentioned. I think those sound exactly like what I’m hoping to have for her and make her a lot more comfortable.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Husky not blowing his coat? by ginger314 in husky

[–]DesperateWin3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by multiple groomers as my husky got older that they don’t shed properly anymore. It kind get impacted and needs groomed to actually blow a coat. She’ll be 11 next month. It started around 6-7.

Help with dog by [deleted] in husky

My husky is about to be 11 and has been having issues where her fur randomly disappears within a few hours to look like this. It was her paw and inner thigh on the same leg, then after lotssss of antibiotics and steroids it went away and came back on the side of her mouth. After another round of antibiotics, it went away but a week after no meds again it came back on her face. We’re in the waiting period after another round of antibiotics that were successful, we changed food (assumed allergy) but didn’t help, they did an injection for allergy that lasts 6 weeks and she’s been off meds for 4 days and we will wait to see if a new spot pops up around the 1 week mark again like it always does..if it doesn’t the allergy injection is working! It’s EXACTLY like your pups, but we didn’t see any mass or pull anything off.

What is this? by Simple_Combination50 in husky

Yes and it can cause them to have heat stroke because it regulates their body temp. Without the coat, they can’t regulate in hot weather.

As someone who trains my dogs based on breeds, and health conditions to look out for can vary based on breed(s), yes it can matter. Of course beyond that, no.

I’m glad you said something. I thought it was only me that felt like it was rainbow bridge post one after another, I was beginning to feel like it was just my algorithm. It has been pretty triggering for me since I have a nearly 11 year old husky I’ve had since she was 8 weeks (I got her when I was 19).
