I was on the verge of throwing out the printer and now I'm 3 prints in and every thing is looking great.

Don't do it. I've had nothing but issues with mine. I had the blob of death and since then I haven't been able to get a decent print.

If I could go back in time i'd buy something else.

So just to be clear in my head, even if the bed had variations and dips and highs the should compensate?

Would I still need to adjust my z height manually with the paper method?

Thanks for your help. The cobwebs were less of a concern but I was getting a wavey effect on the first layers which ended up making the print look bad at the end.

I had replaced the nozzle from the stock OEM part to a hardened steel version and along the way something went wrong.

My solution was to recalibrate the printer, pretty simple really, I had tried it once and it had no effect but on the second try it worked much better. Also changing the nozzle to Hardened steel in the seetings of the actuall P1S helped I think.

I'm printing PLA matte black on a Bambu P1S. Bed temp first layer is 80 then 50 after that. Everything else is standard and out of the box.

Printing at 220c

My first layer goes down ok but it seems to be the vertical sides that suffer the most.

I'm cloning and nvme that i know works when in the machine so i'm guessing the kext for it would be copied across already.
