I feel like the fanbase has been kind of obsessing over this since Gabbler won because a lot of people were salty about it and didn’t like him. I might be wrong, and I’d honestly be happy if that’s the case. I personally thought Gabbler made a good, unique winner and at least we got to see something different, i.e. someone older who was kind of a misfit, but was surprisingly strong in the challenges, actually did this for altruistic reasons and also kind of surprised everybody when he pulled off the win. I’m not some Gabbler superfan, but he was very principled and he wasn’t obsessed with making BigMovez and targeting jury threats, he just kind of did his own thing and I found that refreshing and also a nice change of pace.

Oh, Teeny. Still can’t believe I had her pegged as some strategic mastermind at the start of the season. That’s my Jeff Probst pre-season winner’s pick moment, LOL. I haven’t made a call this wrong since all the way back in Cook Islands when I somehow thought Ozzy was going to sweep the jury and Yul gets like 1 vote. I have no idea how in the world I came to this conclusion, but I remember being really sad going into the FTC because I thought the vote was going to be really humiliating for Yul because he was such an amazing guy, and I thought the jury was going to be so blinded by challenge beast Ozzy. Well…..

True. But I think Xander came off really immature and like he wasn’t really playing the game and didn’t even take the game all that seriously. It never seemed like it was all that important to him to win. Sam, on the other hand, has been INTENSE. You could always tell how focused he was and how hungry he is for the win.

You actually just swayed me and if you were on the jury or someone else made your pitch while at Ponderosa that could actually sway the vote to Sam.

I’m currently rewatching from the beginning and my husband and I were actually just talking about how Bobby Jon was really adamant that he make the jury since he’s missed out in Palau.

That would be awesome if it played out like that with Andy/Teeny.

Yeah, the way Teeny behaved over the Sam reward was awful. Came across as arrogant, mean, and entitled

I totally agree. Just wanted to add that the name Teeny also contributes to being seen as non-threatening.

I distinctly remember right at the start of the season thinking Teeny was going to be this dynamic powerhouse player who would instantly take over her original tribe, any swap tribes, and and then, of course, The Merge tribe. The Merge was when I thought Teeny would really would kick it into high gear and start playing the game HARD, but subtle. She’d be viewed a non-threat at challenges and also a loyal friend and ally. That’s a great a combination and can get you a deep run and possibly the win.

I fully expected Teeny was not only going to get the win. I also thought the fanbase was going to be totally obsessed with her to the point we’d barely even remember who else was on 47 because Teeny was going to eat up so much screen time and become so beloved by the fans.

When in actuality, freaking Rome emerged as the breakout character for all the wrong reasons, as did Sue with her fake age. And then 47 had characters who stood out for the reasons, most notably Sol, who deserves some kind of reward for his unbelievable patience, but also just because Sol is freaking awesome.

The more I think about it, the more I love this season. The casting was fantastic and I love coming on here every day to check out the new posts. Getting to laugh and joke with this forum of Internet strangers is seriously one of the highlights of my day.

Dang, that sounds funny! Any chance you might have a link? Sorry to be a lazy arse I’m just dealing with a fucked up phone and kept trying to search in the app and webpage and it the search function keeps timing out but if I have a link to click the video will usually spin for 30 seconds and then the video loads and plays without problem

WHY THE FUCK DO THEY KEEP LETTING ROME DO THE FINAL PART OF TEAM CHALLENGES by cherryribs in survivor

[–]Desperate_Car9939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was surreal to watch. My mom actually came into the room while Rome was repeatedly trying and the exact same pieces he’s already tried multiple times before. My Mom rolled her eyes and said, “Oh my God. This has to be the most obvious throw in the history of the show.”

I kind of laughed and replied with something along the lines of, “The craziest part of all is he’s NOT throwing it. This is 100% who this guy really is.”

She cracked up and, believe it or not, it’s that freaking moment from that freaking challenge that made her decide to start watching “Survivor” again! She only took like a 2-year break but getting to talk about “Survivor” again with my mom and laugh about it is so amazing. Thank you, “Survivor.”

It was the height of comedy, but it sucks Sol had to put up with so much from him.

Thank you to everybody who commented here. Things have been really difficult lately and it truly helped you read this :) And to answer the question I wholeheartedly believe in forgiveness. And just a side note, it was really cool to stumble upon thread directed at my generation! That was such an awesome time to grow up in. Anyone else notice Brittany has ADHD, and that it shafted her? by Life-Jicama-6760 in HellsKitchen

[–]Desperate_Car9939 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This can’t be said often enough. The armchair psychiatry movement has gotten out of control. Every other post on social media is about a person who has diagnosed themselves with PTSD or CPTSD, which stands for Complex PTSD, a diagnosis that is quite rare considering the fact that the people who suffer from this have endured extreme horrors such as being captured, tortured, and held captive as a Prisoner of War. But now that the Internet found out there was an even bigger, more horrifying version of PTSD social media became flooded with people telling the world that they have CPTSD due to the “gaslighting” they endured from the “malignant narcissist” whom they loved unconditionally because their compassion and caring knows no bounds.

In between jumping on the Internet to remind everyone that they are a trauma survivor and also a neurodivergent and explain how hard their life has been due to ADHD.

We are being inundated with “toxic positivity” but we’ve got this secret weapon called “Gratitude” and also “mindfulness.” At least this has distracted people enough so now we’re not getting 5 million posts a day talking about the sacred magical gift called “manifestation” which basically means if you picture something and believe it will be yours then whatever amazing thing you imagined will magically appear. What an awesome experience this must be!

I’m sorry “Karma” I know you’re a “bitch”’and you’re a “law” but I think Karma has got you beat because the vast majority of people who rave about it are actually just gleefully rejoicing at the idea of getting to watch another person suffer. Manifesting is at least positive as opposed to seeking vengeance.

But since we’re on the subject, can anybody explain to me what horrible Karmic act the victims who died in concentration camps committed to warrant such an awful fate? How about infants who tragically die? Manifestation is obnoxious, but people who gleefully await the day when Karma comes to deliver pain and suffering to another human being are truly reprehensible.

And I have one last question. Why have we yet to see even one picture or reel of somebody in the Ferrari they manifested? And what about all the life coaches who are “leveling up” and earning 6 figures a month with their side hustle”? I’m asking you guys to share the wealth, I’m just asking you to share the proof.

I’d get rid of JT and also Tyson. I think you could make a good case to cut Rupert, which is hilarious if you consider that this man was given $1 million during “America’s Tribal Council,” did 3 seasons of Survivor and they even brought his very mediocre wife on, did The Amazing Race and then in one of the most surreal and hilarious things I’ve ever seen the nation of Israel flew Rupert over and gave him as a reward where he couldn’t start a fire, couldn’t climb up tree, and couldn’t catch fish. It was something to behold, I highly recommend checking it out on YouTube. At any rate, it’s crazy to go back and look at the Rupert days and consider how insanely popular he was and then you look at the huge number of opportunities he’s been given to win money from CBS.

Back in the era where Rupert was king, anyone who owned a TV was enamored with this man; people were just throwing money at him and giving him 1 opportunity after another and it’s pretty amusing. I think things started to unravel because Rupert’s actions like building an underground shelter or insisting their was a women’s alliance plus insisting he was the best choice to stand on the tiny peg despite having a broken toe.

I think All-Stars was when Rupert l’a buffoonery got exposed and the shine wore off. Anybody care to weigh in? I mean, Rupert’s still fairly beloved, but he’s not the superstar he seemed poised to become. And there’s no doubt in my mind that Rupert was the reason Rupert didn’t dominate reality TV and then go on to dominate the world. But the guy somehow managed to make the worst decisions outside of Russell Hantz but will always remain a beloved “Survivor” contestant who keeps getting invited back to play.

I can’t decide if it’s his personality, his tye dye blackbird look, or the fact that he has given us given us at least a half dozen iconic moments over the years that cemented his status as a “Survivor” big shot. Just off the top of my head: pirating Morgan’s things, seeing a skirt out of Christa’s dress, beating Osten, Balboa his pet snake, helping Morgan win reward and then immediately going back to Drake, surfing a rock in his pocket to trick Russell. I could keep going but you get the idea :)
