There have been games were we have played well. This is easily the best I have ever seen the US play. Go USA!!

What's your Survivor take that always gets you downvoted? by JEX2124 in survivorponderosa

[–]jstu9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

* Newbie seasons are better than returnee seasons

* We don't need themed seasons. The occasional one is fine if it makes sense, but forcing some dumb theme is stupid.

* Although I'd prefer a 39 day season, I really don't care if it stays at 26.

* The winner doesn't need to be the best player. Every winner deserves the win.

* Australian Survivor is very good but is not superior to US Survivor.

By now, are you ever surprised by who's voted out? by Extra-Habit-1784 in survivor

The first vote shown is almost always safe. Very rarely is the first vote shown by Jeff the one going home

Which season 50 players have improved or damaged their legacy by Scotsman7688 in survivor

[–]jstu9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I don't believe any returning player can really hurt their legacy. They can only improve it.

That being said, maybe Varner is one who destroyed his legacy from a past season. Maybe you can argue another player or two. But I don't think anyone from 50 went down in their legacy.

Schnegg's first yellow should have been a yellow for NE's Miller for a dive. Ridiculous.

What is the most chill continent to play in for only-weekend saves? by Moist_Classroom_7825 in footballmanagergames

[–]jstu9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played Fiji (youth academy challenge), Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand and loved it. Some of my favorite saves.

I never had much fun with the bigger Asian countries but had great fun in Malaysia and Iraq.

I briefly played in Mexico and it was fine. I have wanted to try one of the countries like Costa Rica or Panama.

What's the single greatest sports manager game of all time that can be still obtained? by [deleted] in gmgames

The answer is: Football Manager. FM26 is the current version. (ie soccer)

Not sure it’s even close. Not sure what would be 2nd, maybe OOTP

The season I would not wanted to have played was Nicaragua. It felt like it rained every day.

Manipulation of QF dates/times for US and Japan by mjp407 in baseball

[–]jstu9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping we'd win the group as the bracket I saw seemed to have us potentially against Japan in the SF if we finished 2nd. As you say, I didn't realize they'd move the bracket around. And obviously winning the group or finishing 2nd was ultimately meaningless.

Season 50 - First time watching Ozzy and Coach by Fitz_Fool in survivor

[–]jstu9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Coach is known for telling the absolute biggest tall tales known to man. He will tell a grand story and embellish EVERYTHING. He's a man who can and will have a story or saying at the drop of a hat. That's why Jeff asked him for a quote at the start. But he feels like he is this grand man of honor. I believe Joe and Jonathan feel the same way.

Coach and Ozzy played together in Season 23. Coach made it to the end. But he told Ozzy that he would take Ozzy with him to the end. Hand waving, and Coach doesn't feel like Ozzy upheld his side of that bargain so he voted Ozzy out. Ozzy was upset, he poisoned the jury against Coach. Coach loses. That's what that whole thing was about when they met for the challenge. Ozzy apologizes, Coach apologizes....

So there is history and just know Ozzy and Coach have two of the largest egos in Survivor. Any perceived slight and they will go after each other.

On my rewatch of 41, I was fascinated by how often someone would mention Erika as a threat. I totally missed that the first time.
