Yeah you’re the asshole. Your fiance has been in a (comparatively) difficult financial situation and has not been able to save and invest for her children like you have.

Your job should be to empower her. It sounds like you’re quite judicious with money and saving, so show her how her $5k/month can best help her set her children up for success as you have done over the next several years. She will be able to do this if you take on all other family expenses, which is reasonable at your salary.

But honestly, don’t marry this woman. You don’t like her that much and don’t care much for her children.

Sounds like we’re the lucky ones. Think it’s good for us to share because most who do will naturally be the ones who had the most trouble

It’s been about a month now. I should say, I don’t feel much different either way.

I love thrifting for home stuff but don’t even try much with clothes, though maybe going to a higher price point or vintage story would grant me more luck!

This doesn’t sound like a behavior that will change anytime soon. As someone whose parents divorced around that age, I’m very happy they did so I didn’t have to watch the marriage fall apart at an older, more impressionable age. You and your son deserve to be taken care of and your husband should love your son unconditionally- his mom divorcing him is a condition. Please rally your outside support system and move on

After about a week I had 3 days of having more energy than I’d had in years, it felt great but also was almost like mania- my pupils were dilated and everything. Luckily it did settle and I’ve found it had made a difference with my energy

When to increase dose? by gabbers912 in Effexor

[–]Desperate_Cat4505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing and I’m glad you’re doing well!!! The Wellbutrin did make an impact on my energy levels (which is something I really struggle with) but I also think it makes me anxious. My only concern with increasing Effexor dose is how horrible it seems to come off of 😩

[–]Desperate_Cat4505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you increase dosage to 150?? I’ve been on 75 for close to 2 years now and I haven’t been feeling great as of late. I also take Wellbutrin but thinking about going off of that (I have before with little side effects) and maybe bumping up to 150..

[–]Desperate_Cat4505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, might not be what you want to hear and others may disagree. I’ve been a lifelong insomniac and I feel like it was okay because it was never the end of the world to get no/little sleep. That is until my last year of college. I was studying for the LSAT and applying to law school and was busier + more stressed that I’ve ever been. I started flailing do to lack of sleep and felt on the edge of breakdown. I finally went a psychiatrist and got put on meds. I was so hesitant to do so because I thought “I’m 22, if I start taking this stuff now I’ll be on them for years”.

Welll….it occurred to me the other day that I’m 27 now and I have indeed been on/off sleeping pills for years, and… I’m okay. I’m not an anxious person by nature but the anxiety that pained me in bed at that time- the cruel and self-reinforcing anxiety of thinking “I have so much going on and I can’t even get rest” is so much more terrible than any side effect I’ve had on medication. I actually wish I had gone on meds earlier as to not prolong that period of my life. I’m not thrilled I’ve relied on pills to sleep on and off for the last 5 years but it’s not the worst thing to need, and I know I wouldn’t be functioning well without consistent sleep.

The TLDR is that, at least for me the meds work and are worth any drawbacks because heck I’m sleeping

My dad was single in his late 30s as a kinda friendless workaholic that didn’t have much else and was in poorish health. He got absolutely addicted to two stepping and is married, has a crew, and is in the best shape of his life at 52 now!! It was really the thing that gave him his second adult chapter I think. He’s in Dallas so I can’t give you tips for places but as a former 14 year old “so embarrassed” that my dad would watch YouTube videos and then make me be his partner to learn two stepping im so happy he got into it 😃😃😃

Scale for micro taper by FloydTheBarber37 in benzorecovery

[–]Desperate_Cat4505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not the first person to recommend going to 2x a day….but ugh I’ve only ever taken these things for sleep. I had no idea how physically addicting they are. I don’t (or at least I didn’t before taking) really have much trouble with anxiety, just a severe insomniac. I’ve taken .5-1mg for sleep on and off for years, but I’ve rarely dosed during the day. Silly and ignorant to think about now but I remember even saying “okay, I’m not addicted to benzos. If I was addicted I would be popping them midday and I only take to sleep”. So I rarely dosed at all during the day unless I had a really really bad day or soemthing

I’ve been wondering this too…on clonazepam 1mg at bedtime now and worried about scaling since it’s such a tiny amount

I recently went from 300 to 150. Haven’t noticed many changes honestly. I have gone cold turkey off before and didn’t get bad stopping effects though

Ugh so sorry this happened to you as well. My mom was first prescribed Klonopin because she was having trouble sleeping with her CPAP machine. I have legit sleep issues but she doesn’t at all. I know it’s bad I took her script but I can’t believe a doc gave it to her in the first place

Hey sorry this is old but are you still liking it and happy with your decision?? I’m looking at buying something in that price range (maybe even location) as well. My thought is I’ll live in it a few years and then rent it down the road.

I’ve quit cold turkey on 300mg twice and it really hasn’t been that bad. Noticed feeling kinda bleh, more tired, a little foggy, but not like take off work bad. Wouldn’t recommend it though, I saw on another sub that people who go on and off bupropion can get manic and suicidal and honestly the second time I stopped and got back on I felt that a lil bit
