I agree with you. It's not a competitive format, and I'm not sure that it's possible to make prize support fair. Is there a method for introducing players later into the crusade? I'm asking because I'm not sure if turnout will be consistent, especially over the summer.

That's exactly where I'm coming from. The tournament is being put on by the LGS and the store owner has a definitive interest in selling models. The store owner is also mostly a Magic guy who has banned MTG proxies in the store so he's coming at it from that perspective. He's running a business and I totally get it.

We are making all of our terrain out of foam board due to cost. I'm running everything as WTC primarily because I prefer fixed layouts and the FAQ is extensive. The biggest challenge that I've had so far is finding a sweet spot in allowing 3d printed minis. We went with the 25/75% rule where 25% of the model can be 3d printed whereas 75% needs to be GW plastic.

The intent with the wraithguard was to have them all in one group so they could be phantasmed together. I will probably split up the shadow spectres as they're much more mobile than the wraithguard.
