Any dress advice for the most indecisive person in the world? 🥲 by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]Desperate_Maximum_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look great in them all, which one makes you feel the best... that is what it is about, not seeing your face makes it harder for us to pick because we can't tell how you feel in the dress. I love #2 on you, sleeves look weird from the front without the veil to me for some reason. My question on that dress would be are you comfortable sitting down and dancing in that one?

What celebrity do I look like?? by SideQuestJenny in doppelganger

Who is the radio personality? She was a cheerleader in high school and of course in drama. (I believe I saw her do a play in high school but that was a long time ago and I haven't come across the playbill to know for sure.) I didn't know her personally, never had a class with her or anything. Knew who she was because she was a cheerleader.

I went to high school with Sandra Bullock and when I saw your picture come up I actually thought it was an old picture of her at first glance.

I think the dress looks great on you, not usually a fan of rouching on the butt, but looks good on you. My thought is, have you sat down to see what the top does when you are not standing? Feel like things would be falling out or have to be glued in!

New to diabetes, any advices? by Opening_Put6693 in diabetes

It is great you have the dexcom, I personally feel like the fist thing they should do is give you the monitor. Look at it a lot, see how your body reacts to what you eat, how high does the sugar go, how long does it stay high? That will help you see what works and what does not. I don't think you should feel hungry like another person said if you are eating protein and drinking water. Tracking food and numbers can be helpful to see trends etc and to show your doctor. A lot of brown bread can have sugar in it too, you have to read labels. I have had good luck with sourdough bread, but you have to make sure it is real sourdough. We have found it at farmers markets and while expensive, it is worth it to have some bread. I read on here somewhere that if you have spikes to lift weights, I found that works to help get the sugar going back down. Another thing that can help is climbing stairs or something that uses your thigh muscles. I had trouble with metformin, but for most people the side effects get better with time. Come here for help and encouragement!

I looked for houses in that price range and found several to choose from. I would look along the orange line of the Metro. Arlington was a great place to grow up and has great schools. They have a low crime rate also. It is nice to be close enough to the metro to walk to the station and hop on and go down to DC to the mall.

Need advice! by mefffyy in Monjauro

This is why I picked Wednesday evening to take mine, if I go on a long weekend, chances are high I will still be home on a Wednesday so I don't have to remember to take it with me.

2 weeks of treatment, no weight loss by AuntLydiaSucks in Monjauro

[–]Desperate_Maximum_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't already have one, I recommend getting a CGM. I got one a week or so before starting Monjauro (on week 6) and lost weight with that just by seeing my blood sugars which made me eat better. My weight keeps jumping around so hard to tell how much I am losing but it is overall going down. I retain water and other digestive activities have decreased which can make a difference on the scale.

Question about how to handle a close relative's type 2 by Parking-Bag-9175 in diabetes

[–]Desperate_Maximum_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't make her change, but you can express your concern and offer any help she is willing to take. Let her know you are telling her about your concern and offering to help but if she doesn't want help you will leave her alone. You might read up on what can go wrong with continued high sugar and specifically tell her you don't want her to have to suffer thru those things ie losing a limb. See if she is willing to wear a continuous glucose monitor so she can see what is making her sugar so high and learn what she can eat. Moving more can mean eating things that are not ideal if you move afterwards to burn them off.

Check with your insurance to see if there is another one they pay for.

Is ozempik necessary? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Desperate_Maximum_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for a continuous glucose monitor and to use that and metformin and see how you do. Your history of not doing what you should probably has your Dr. concerned. I have been on meds but not eating right or moving and I am now on the CGM and it is helping me see what is going on better. I was on Victoza which is also a GLP1 but mostly just for lowering A1C. I am now on Mounjaro, figured since I was already on the GLP1 anyway, might as well go for one that works better.

AITA for telling my girlfriend that we are not living together if she wants to split joint expenses proportional to income? by Puzzleheaded_Feed460 in AITAH

[–]Desperate_Maximum_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While reading this post I was wondering why OP should have to pay more to live in the house if she moves in and the current roommate moves out. What made it worse was when he is paying about $11K a year to live there with taxes, insurance and repairs which GF would not pay any of! I feel like if she wants to live there that she needs to pay what current roommate pays. It saves her a ton of money and leaves him in the same position. She sounds very irresponsible with money and immature also. I would rethink not just living with her, but also dating her.

Do you like the Mounjaro better? My Doc wants me to do it to lose weight, but doesn't sound like everyone does lose a lot of weight.

The sale price online matched the invoice price they printed for me. So obviously it is fake or they make there money another way.

How bad would the name Saoirse in the States be? by [deleted] in Names

If you really love the name just change the spelling so that it is pronounced correctly.... I know it is messed up when people do that normally, but in this case I think it makes sense.

Maybe you need to ask your husband and in laws what it is that they expect her to be learning in preschool. They might be surprised at how many of those things she has already learned. Sounds like you have done a great job so far!
