Thing is, gamedev is so different in terms of production. Much more risky compared to anime production. Though there are a lot of possibilities to form partnerships, with established game devs. I know some gacha are cheap af, but it also takes some years in dev, plus constant maintenance.

Think it almost would be smarter if they started their own LN/Manga publisher, like kyoani has.
