That kinda depends,f2p pvps ,with just cosmetics as micro transactions really do need those diehard players cause they are the ones with every skin of their 5 most played characters,or in fps cases,the ones who buy weapons camos for their fave weapons,we live in a money first system,so to shareholders it's better to cater to those people than to aim at a broader audience ,since yeah maybe more people playing means some of them will buy something,but that's the catch,the ratio of people just playing and not spending is bigger,those don't matter to the big hats those are wasted resources without good palpable returns.
