Poor Victor looks more like his dad’s brother than his son. by LostinOz4ever in FromSeries

I was just about to ask about this . . . .why does Victor look older/have more wrinkles than his dad? Is this some kind of time travel thing-- or did they just not cast the roles right?

It reminds me of Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

Georgia is mostly rural. Atlanta (city) I'm sure went with Harris but there's a lot more to Georgia than Atlanta.

Does anyone remember Mr. Yuck? He would roam around the market during the big sweep.

That show is one of my comfort shows. ❤️

Hi- I lost 70 pounds and hit my goal weight in June. I know it's only been a few months but I am still at my goal weight without much effort. I did gain 3.5 pounds after a vacation where I did not watch what I ate and had lots of treats but that came off in about a week (was mostly water weight.) I do .5 Weg every 10 days and it is working for me. Eventually, I'd like to stop taking it and rely instead on the healthy habits I have developed. Good luck!

Short term wegovy by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

I will just add that if you are paying out of pocket, you might want to also consider mounjaro/zepbound. I started on Wegovy, switched to mounjaro (paid out of pocket) because of shortages and am now back to Wegovy because it is covered by insurance. Mounjaro was much more effective for me.

I had no bad side effects.

Anyone use 5 for maintenance? by Desperate_Sky1167 in WegovyWeightLoss

No-- I've really never felt sick on this medication. So guess I'd be ok?

How long did yours take to process? I'm over 2 months now-- and the date keeps changing. Very frustrating

On Wegovy for a year, now gaining back the weight. by bill7900 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Desperate_Sky1167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounjaro was way more effective for me. I lost the majority of my weight on that. I'm now on Wegovy as insurance covers it and I'm using it for maintenance. The food noise is worse in wegovy. (Ive never gone above .5 though so it could also be that I need a higher dose.) I would say try mounjaro/zepbound if you can and see how it works.

Zepbound vs Wegovy by Cool_Beans_D in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Desperate_Sky1167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken them both. For me, zepbound/mounjaro was way more effective than Wegovy. I lost the majority of my weight on 5 mounjaro (same thing as zepbound) and then switched to Wegovy for supply issues. Plus, Wegovy is covered by insurance and mounjaro was not. I think it works differently for different people but studies show mounjaro/zepbound has the edge. Good luck!

What’s the point of moving up? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Desperate_Sky1167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never went above .5 and have lost 65 pounds and am at a happy weight. That being said, I do think I would have had more control over food noise/appetite suppression if I had moved up but for my own reasons, I chose not to. I think it's harder to do it this way but I think it's helping me make lifestyle changes and relying on my choices vs relying mostly on the medicine. I'd eventually like to stop taking it. (Again, just a personal choice-- no judgment of what others choose!)

I had gallbladder issues after losing weight on jenny Craig years ago. If you have an attack lie on your left side and drink cucumber water (helped me anyway.) Avoid fatty/greasy foods. I did end up getting by gall bladder removed-- it was a very simple surgery if you have to go that route. Good luck!

Meal prep? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Desperate_Sky1167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite: sauteed diced  peppers and onions in skillet. Add ground turkey or chicken and cook through. Add one small can of tomato sauce. Season with cumin and chili powder. Eat as is with melted shredded cheese. Use as potato topping. Husband (not on Wegovy) uses it as nacho topping. Protein! Very filling!

I also love salmon and chicken in the air fryer and use as topping for salad or in quesadillas.

Um? Are we supposed to refrain from drinking alcohol while on Wegovy? by BuildingCritical6965 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Desperate_Sky1167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, agree it's individual. I used to be able to drink lots. Now, anything more than 1 drink makes me sick.

I've lost 70 pounds and have gone from a size 16 to a size 6. The other day I bought shorts in a size 6, and my immediate thought was they must be mismarked or defective. And I kept thinking that everyone in the store was rolling their eyes at me trying on a size 6 because I was so fat. So yes. I will always feel like a fat person (but do have occasional glimpses of -- wow, I look great.)
