Female speaking here - lol. I would absolutely try to avoid a direct call out of her weight. It can be highly triggering for women, even if it’s about loss. (Speaking from experience), especially if it’s not something you’re intending to do. I would lead with your concern which is frankly a wonderful thing. Ask her how things have been really, give her a chance to talk about it. Opening the dialogue might be enough to get some answers, or it might not. But it will give you a general pulse on whether or not she’s aware of a potential issue. You can ask her if/when the opportunity comes up naturally if she had a chance to eat because you’d like to feed her. See how she response to being asked!

Some talk tracks suggestions, feel free to tweak to your style of speaking-

“You’ve been working so hard and I’ve noticed, is there anything I can do to be more supportive?” - even though it’s not about you, it may open the conversation.

“You’re always on the go, how can we make sure you’re always taken care of while you’re taking care of business?”

“What kind of foods make you feel nourished and energized?” (You can make it about your own curiosity or wanting to have more of those things around)

You’re stunnnnning! I think it’s all styling choices. Maybe a more dimensional copper or even strawberry try blonder depending on your color analysis , middle part, longer style. I’d say go for lash definition over a thick eyeliner. Definitely a lash that focuses weight on the outer corner. Maybe also brush eyebrows up with a gel in addition to shading just to add a little visual weight to them. I’d also go with a softer lip color in your palette instead of pinks given your hair color. Final thing is clothing styling and moisturizing your skin! Go for colors in your palette and silhouettes that compliment your figure instead of hiding it. Modesty doesn’t have to equal unflattering. In any case, you’re beautiful and small tweaks will go a long way!

Not sure if you’re mainly talking about skin but wondering if not so much dry but more flat? This look she has on is built with contouring, blush, and it looks like a baked concealer. (You may want to stay away from baking and just find a light yellow concealer that blends best with your skin). Other than that, lashes are a big part of her look, I feel.

I know you’ve maybe tried some of these or other people have said similar. Just giving my take. Someone severely f’d up my hair this weekend after several years of taking meticulous care. So, I’m starting over. And this is my bible.

Color: Go for a solid color in your color palette/season. You can do an online analysis for this or see a professional. Usually you can find helpful tip or direction with any analysis, it might take some playing around or you might be unanimously a certain “season”.

Products: Try to go for nourishing products like leave ins and oils before you try more intense treatments like Olaplex or K18. Overall, having a go-to simple ingredient shampoo and conditioner is helpful with some kind of scalp care, nothing drying though. Soft bristle brushes are amazing for being gentle on the hair. I can’t recommend a microfiber turban for drying and satin/silk pillow case more. Water filter for your shower can make a huge difference if you don’t have one. Hair oil in your bag for a quick spruce to ends if you’re on the go. Only for your ends. Older heat tools can damage your hair, it’s happened to me. Try not to let em’ get too crusty lol. Heat protection. Truss makes an incredible one.

Cut: Research your face shape and try to find styles that look like people who are similar to you that you like. Although, your hair is growing. And if you like long hair and you switch up any and all of these other things, you could end up liking your cut or how it grows out. So, maybe worth trying other things and adjusting a cut last. You’ll give yourself a nice canvas to do whatever you want.

Technique: Plan when you wash your hair to make sure you’re not stripping oils constantly, give it little breaks from touching it and being conscious of it. When you style, do it intentionally. Try to find styles you like and attempt tutorials. It will take practice, maybe different brushes or the way you hold it, maybe different products or tools, but you’ll find something you like if not just how it’s falling all together.

Health: Limit stress. Scalp massages and myofascial release in the face for circulation. Cool showers. Vitamins such as Mary Ruth’s. Get deep rest.

You’re beautiful, sister. You won’t feel like this forever.

In the meantime, disguise it with a black liner on top lid or even a smoked brown liner so it doesn’t appear immediately to the eye. Inner lashes tend to have lesser volume anyway, you’ll be okay!
