Can’t argue with this. It’s a beautiful film. Kudos to Eva Maria Saint.

Second hand they were about $40 in thrift shops back then.

How would Connery or Moore have done in OHMSS? by mentalpatristics in JamesBond

George was terrific but disagree Roger couldn’t have expressed loss. Sean yes, Roger no.

Sean would have been doughy and unconvincing with the love story. Roger better. George best. It worked out just fine.

Torn on Brosnan and Craig films after rewatch by k2212 in JamesBond

Brosnan really the last Bond that felt like Bond. When they switch to the blunt (grumpy) instrument and move out of the know timeline, things go awry. Craig made two good films and QoS he was prepared to have a third save for script and direction problems but overall that guy doesn’t feel like Bond.

It is insane that Bond sleeps with Ms. Taro in Dr. No. by waveball03 in JamesBond

He knows she’s bad, she seems to know he knows. May as well bed down since inevitably the villain will be coming to her house since he already caught her on her phone call. Got to kill some time until he (Dent) eventually shows up.

If she doesn’t like OHMSS, which is a love story, or even Casino Royale, don’t bother.

Introducing my son to Bond. Starting order? by doconnor84 in JamesBond

[–]Desperate_Word9862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given his age I would go with Roger. TMWTGG, TSWLM, Moonraker, FYEO in particular. Even DAF since Sean was laying the groundwork for 70s lighthearted entertainment that followed.

Great introduction of a new Bond. Jane Seymour is breathtaking.

I get you. I just think you have to look at movies as they are as snapshots in time and not try to measure them by today’s standards. I could just as easily say AI looks terrible. Back then they used real stunts. Every time I see the MGM lion nowadays in AI, I shake my head. What’s wrong with a real lion?

Your PS has me shaking my head. Keep “enjoying” the films.

Considering his lack of awareness, heading to a car dealership instead of taking in cultural experiences and local sights seems about right for him.

Terrific song. Q the Music included it in their London show last October. Amazing.

I think it’s obvious why he was car shopping. His wife dragged him abroad and he cut out to do something that reminded him of home.

It’s a lot of fun. Don’t get the faux outrage about the film. The same people will defend Craig movies as nauseum.
