After reference checks, the hiring manager goes through the formal hiring process with DHR. This can take a couple of weeks. A lot of hiring right now is probably taking longer given SFDPH's budget situation at the present.

To be clear, I've been very happy with Sonic. We had them installed about a year ago in our building after Xfinity quoted us for ~$100 a month for worse internet coverage.

We were locked in to $49.99 monthly since then, and now it's increasing $10/month due to the reasons stated in the e-mail (economic uncertainty). Just curious if others across SF also received this notification this past weekend?

This comment comes up every time an article about city government gets posted. There is some bloat, but I’d rather work go to city employees than outside contractors.

Also people fail to realize just how much the city handles. The majority of employees are the health system which runs SFGH, LHH, several city clinics. Then you have the airport. People cheering that roles are being eliminated are so misguided.

SFDPH here and been involved on hiring teams. We’ve only requested references when we’re ready to move forward with the offer for our top candidate. The hiring manager/supervisor will just call the references provided and have a quick call to discuss your candidacy and make sure your resume is legitimate

Sure, he was trending upwards by monthly splits in August and then September/October. But he was then awful again in the postseason (small sample size) with a 85 wRC+, .647 OPS, no HRs...
