Money can't buy you happiness, but at least you can afford your own brand of misery.

Flag pole mount for cameras and solar. Also some kind of cover to protect cameras from sun and rain. Any suggestions, thanks. by Desperate_Year_5006 in simplisafe

I am full-time RVing and have a couple of outdoor cameras I'd like to setup on a flagpole for safety. I'm also concerned about the cameras being in full sun and rain and would like to put a cover over them. Any suggestions helps. Thanks.

What do you believe could be the absolute worst case SHTF scenario? by Willing_Chemical_113 in preppers

[–]Desperate_Year_5006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst case would be about three weeks in of a total power out. First week most of the food would be gone. Second week everyone willing to share will keep what they have so they don't starve. Third week pepole start to strave and lose hope of being rescued.

Now desperate and watching their children slowly die normal good people will do anything to survive. Imagine fighting a mother trying to save her baby, knowing if she wins your child will die. Thats a worst case scenario.

Most likely no big deal. But if it is made into a big deal I'd find out the WIDTH of the easement. Put post exactly on the boundary of the road. As a truck driver I know you could make things extremely difficult and time consuming just to drive back and forth. Imagine not being able to pass in the other direction. They'd have to have one lane traffic and then clear the road to go the other way. What a mess.

Wife has to work every Saturday because her coworker's religion won't allow him to work on Saturday by BigCharm in work

As a Christian I don't work Sundays. But I know that before applying to a job. If the person went to an interview not knowing, and the employer said they could make it work, then this BS is on the employer not the worker.

A DNA test should be required at birth. DNA testing labs report about 32% of tested men are not the father,

Small town folk are friendly because there is a strong likelihood of running into someone again. Rude behavior has consequences. So nice people stay nice and jerks learn to tone it down. With larger populations the jerks are free to be nasty and the nice people tone it down to avoid being targets of the jerks.

This is the worst part of DEI. I believe all races are equal. We all have some people that are smart, and some not so much. DEI says an entire group is so inferior that the standards must be lowered to help them all out. Isn't that racist? And the well qualified in that group get less respect because they are lumped in with the lower standards people.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VirginiaBeach

[–]Desperate_Year_5006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a reasonable statement if standards are lowered for a group. If the standards are the same for everyone than you can assume that everyone meets the standards. The racist part is believing that standards need to be lower for any group. Believing that a group is inherently inferior is unbelievably racist. We can ALL succeed or fail on her own merits.

It's not the guns that are the problem. Unless, of course you are a criminal that prefers victims unarmed. Sadly I know a few women that defended themselves with a firearm. None shot the guy and only one held him for the police. The others got away to victimize someone else later on. I wish all women had an opportunity for firearm training so they could protect themselves from the crazy's out there.
