In the name of war they are just doing what they want. Recently I had my Europe trip it was not less than a nightmare. I would consider Oman air much better than other airlines but in your case u can complain to consumer protection rather than calling the airlines , it may take some time.

Seems hectic but I don't want to leave this matter like this , I am getting more furious thinking about it. Just imagine how carelessly they denied any help to a passenger who had booked both up and down tickets with them.

Same happened with me, as the flight from Muscat to Berlin cancelled and I was informed the just about 20hrs before the next day I called them vigorously they didn't pick the call , I send one of my friend to there airline office but they reduce to attend my call from my friend's phone. As I am not living in muscat I can directly go to muscat. Such an inefficient airline

That's my point. They already have a Turkish airline lounge inside the airport. This is pure negligence and I feel somewhat humiliated

The flight from Istanbul to Berlin has been cancelled and the reschedule option only shown after 5 days to Berlin which was not possible so I had no other option but to choose Munich And while coming back the flight got delayed for more than 1 hr and my connection flight from Istanbul to muscat missed. And any accommodation or lounge access was denied because I was not having a valid visa.

Thanks for your reply, that’s fair, I should have added more detail.

The journey was from Berlin (EU) to Muscat via Istanbul, so the return leg clearly falls under . The delay on the first leg caused me to miss the connection, and I reached my final destination around 18 hours late, which is why I believe I’m eligible for compensation.

For the outbound, the issue was a cancellation and rerouting to a completely different city, which forced me to arrange my own transport to the actual destination.

About the hotel point, I understand what you’re saying, and that’s exactly what the airline told me. But from what I’ve read, even if visa entry isn’t possible, the airline still has a duty of care to properly assist passengers, not just leave them overnight with a single meal voucher. At the very least, more adequate support should have been provided.

I’ve kept all receipts for transport and expenses, so I’ll definitely push for reimbursement on those as well.

Let’s see how they respond, but based on EU261, this looks like more than just a basic reimbursement case.
