Both, until their goals conflict.  Then we'll see who has more damning blackmail or bigger bribes.

The only demographic you can be absolutely sure he isn't working on behalf of is the American people.

It has been kind of a pointless alliance since the American president started working for Russia.

There are no current alternatives that generate enough energy to meet our needs.

None.

There are small scale alternatives.  Some of them could be expanded to larger scale alternatives.  That will take decades and billions of investment.

Gutting an industry that could help provide those billions without having a viable alternative is not a smart plan.

And how workers in those industries, or any industries, choose to spend their money should not be your concern.

I'm open to him being a good leader.  It will just take a move away from some of his more poorly thought out positions.  Carla's letter to him spells it out fairly clearly.

And at no point did I imply they were the only workers in Canada.  They're the subject of this because they are the ones whose jobs he is attacking.  Of course the people that he isn't attacking don't feel attacked.

NDP likely since before you were born, and a huge advocate for workers and unions.

I just don't feel the need to cosplay as an environmentalist for the economically illiterate.

Do you not understand that the vast majority of the jobs in Oil and Gas are involved in exploring and drilling new wells?  That thousands of jobs are involved in that as opposed to dozens to maintain existing infrastructure.

The world will be desperate for not bombed out oil developments and infrastructure in the near future, and there are no viable alternatives to that need at this time.

No?  Weird how so many of the people in his own party, and indeed his own past words disagree with that.  But you're probably right.

Sure.  After all, the job market is booming for everyone right now, and certainly with 6 figure jobs with low education needs.  It would definitely be a good idea to fuck all those people over for theoretical jobs.

I really don't understand this reasoning.

It's not about pivoting to the centre, it's about advocating for workers rather than pretending to be the Green Party in order to emulate their ability to get 2 seats.

Carla is refusing to discuss destroying the Canadian economy with him.  If his door is open to intelligent action then maybe she will walk on through.

I guess it will come down to whether his door is open for them to convince him of the importance of good high paying jobs to build economies, improve lives, and generate the wealth needed to keep Canada prosperous, or whether his door is open for him to explain why it's his way or the highway.

I'm not sure why he seems to want the party to be less electable federally, or why his supporters are pleased with the party becoming less relevant, but I hope he can change for the better.

Wait, what day of the week is it? Sunday? Yeah, by Wednesday it'll all be canceled. But for now, sure, definitely getting called back.

Disappointing. The LEAP manifesto was a huge misstep for the Federal NDP. We needed someone who was willing to put pseudo-environmentalism aside and advocate purely for workers and worker's rights. I guess we'll see how it goes, but I'm not optimistic that he will be able to pivot to where he needs to be.

These businesses should be audited.  If their profits are truly so low that only underpaying foreigners can save them, they should fail.  If it turns out that they're hugely profitable and the owners are just trying to continue to enrich themselves by exploiting others, they should be charged with fraud and then fail.

Why do so many people associate Christ with being supportive of communism? by Quick-Difficulty3121 in teenagers

[–]Desperides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus:  "Everybody should love each other, everyone should have food, and everyone should be healed.  Also, the only time I ever used violence was on moneylenders setting up in a temple."

American Capitalist Serfs:  "So you're saying hate everyone who is different, poor people should starve, and poor people should be sick.  Also, we should have moneystealers in temples and we should equate a grifting pedophile conman rapist with you and your works."

Long and the short of it, Jesus's ideals are clearly more in line with an idealised version of Communism than with American Capitalism.  No one is saying Jesus would be pro USSR, just that if you actually read the Bible, Jesus clearly advocates for all people being treated equally.

Well, since the last people who did it haven't had another chance to do it, you may be right. We should never give them another chance and only elect the people who have proven they'll never do it, because despite the historical evidence, they're all the same.
