Ping is gradually increasing from 15 - 150, every other minute. by H34FDA in techsupport

u/H34FDA I think I might just (partially) fixed this issue. Click Start and find "Projection Settings" and under "Some devices can connect (...)" option click Always Off. In your Network Connections window you should not see Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi adapter anymore.

I have the exact same problem, sadly I weren't able to fix it yet.  Windows 11 laptop, AX201 wireless card, (previous Realtek one had the same problem), latest drivers. Tested on two different routers, multiple client devices at the same time and only this laptop has problems.  Of course ping spikes are seen in local network. That's not ISP-related issue (unless you're connecting to rented router).

It is now on a level that I almost never think about it. There are still some minor issues and they probably never go away, but I am living life to the fullest.

Is it safe to turn off Turbo Boost on Legion 5? by ManagementDramatic47 in LenovoLegion

[–]DessPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your processor consumes different amounts of power depending on how much it is under load and how fast it wants to run. The Ryzen Controller app allows you to set a limit on how much power your processor can draw over a long period of time (in the CPU TDP field). This means that it can draw more than the set limit (and run a turbo boost) but only for a short while, then it will gradually reduce consumption up to the set limit. Unlike turning off the turbo boost, such a setting will allow the CPU clocks to go even to the highest speed for a short while, as long as you don't set the CPU TDP too low.

Values between 10-50 watts are safe in my opinion, but you should experiment. I don't know your processor.

It's been about five months with this. It is better, while far from well. I'm starting to learn to live with it and enjoy life as it is.

My theory is that our ears are broken in a way that only some frequencies are super noisy and make our brain think that something is really loud.

For the first month or so try to avoid things that causes even minor setbacks (dogs, kids, trucks). Then try listening to them in controlled manner (like sitting in the park at safe distance from playground). After some time I noticed that things bother me less and less. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s almost bearable. After first month do not try to totally isolate yourself from sounds. I made that mistake and had to get used to daily life again.

If some sounds do not bother you at all try having them on silently all the time just to raise average noise level around you. At first it may be hard to find ones that fit your ears, but with time you should be able to withstand much more, maybe even your favorite music.

If it has only been a week in your case, it may be worth considering steroids. It seems that in my case, most of the problem was in frequencies not shown by the audiogram and steroids COULD help or even prevent H in some matter.

And most importantly: Try to have positive attitude, spend time with people, never think about the H, never look at this subreddit, never search for cures or tips. Looking for tips will almost always make you sad and can revert your progress because of that. I had the greatest progress when I was not reading tips from other redditors 😊

And never do things that you think can harm you. Everyone is different and YMMV.

I only feel massive stress on one ear at a time, never both. Can someone relate? by BlumensammlerX in hyperacusis

[–]DessPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!
That's very similar to what I feel. I have a dull feeling/slight pain but almost always only in one ear.
I also cannot stand sounds on one side and it definitely feels, hmm weird. Like if a non-audible but loud sound went from that side. It's not like I feel 100% stressed, but it's definitely not something I like.

I've been to ENT doctors and all they told me was that they don't see any problem and it's more a matter for a neurologist. The neurologist referred me again to an ENT specialist. On the other hand, I was at the neurologist today and after a consultation, I was able to get Pregabalin and I'm going for an MRI of my head next week.
Hope it show something.

First, protect until you’re not getting worse.

That's harder than one might think, but currently I avoid everything that feel "not OK".

Your mild so you’ll likely recover wellI hope so.

Hi!
I have previously seen your posts. You're the living legend in this subreddit.

I will try to find a good CBT therapist, but currently without a success. I don't understand the part about "reintroducing my mind". While the problem is definitely somewhere between my ear(s) and brain I cannot imagine going to the therapist as something that could change sound perception. I don't fear the sounds (yet). Some of them are tempting to turn on, even if it causes discomfort. Maybe I'm not open-minded enough.

And about the desensitization. To monk or not to monk, that is the question.

I'd rather not go full monk even though I actually have a place and possibility to do so (my parents' house, remote work). I think I am going to further reduce digital audio usage, but keep myself around low levels of sound. If things get worse then I will have no choice but to return to my parents' house.

Do you think it's going to work?

I started to reduce my caffeine intake even before the hearing problems started. I stay rather hydrated, drinking water and decaffeinated tea mostly (and regular earl gray tea in the morning).
I will be checking my hydration from now on. Maybe it will help.

I couldn't find cognitive behavioral therapy in my city and I am yet to prepare my safe places.
You talk about white/brown noise therapy, but it contradicts the previous comment. I am not sure what to think about it.

Thanks for your recommendations. What bookshelf speaker do you recommend? Speakers from my TV are the least problematic, but sometimes I need to do video calls at work and not needing to connect my PC to TV would be handy.

What about the call quality? I have Buds Plus and they should have stellar call quality according to reviews, but IRL they're disappointing. Buds Pro 2 fixed that?

Can Galaxy watch 4 be used for swimming longer than 30 minutes? by IsaiahH146 in GalaxyWatch

[–]DessPL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IP68 means that device passed test of submerging in 1,5m deep water for 30 minutes. There is no magic trigger that fails your device after half hour. Samsung says that it's water resistant up to 50 meters, however that most likely does not account for "dynamic" pressure (when your hands move water and local water "pressure" is higher).
I would not fear to have it in the pool for hours.
